The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the few organizations in the NFL that have managed to be dominant throughout multiple decades in history. They were the best franchise in the 1970s, and that isn't up for debate. However, they were also dominant in the 2000s. They were kept in the shadows by the emergence of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, but still made their mark on the NFL. Pittsburgh won two Super Bowls in the 2000s, including Super Bowl XLIII over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Steelers won the Super Bowl at the end of the 2008 season, defeating the Cardinals 27-23. They got to the big game by defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship, while the Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship. Although that game happened nearly 16 years ago, the Steelers were recently threatened by Brandon Jacobs, who is former running back of the New York Giants. Jacobs spoke about the 2008 seasons while on the All Things Covered podcast, talking to Bryant McFadden who was on the Super Bowl XLIII winning team.
"Yup. We would've beat y'all in the Super Bowl. We were the No. 1 seed. There's no way the Arizona Cardinals coming from Arizona, playing in 30-degree, 20-degree weather to win an NFC Championship Game. That wasn't going to happen. We whooped them earlier in that season in Arizona and it was a convincing win for us. I think y'all were the closest game we had throughout that season, I think we would've played y'all again in the Super Bowl and beat y'all."
Jacobs was the starting running back for the 2008 Giants, who were the number one seed going into the NFC playoffs. They earned themselves a first round bye, but wound up losing to the Eagles in the Divisional round. The Giants got upset by the Eagles, who were the sixth seed. They lost 23-11, so Jacobs has no right trying to lay claim to the Super Bowl.

Santonio Holmes' Super Bowl XLIII catch is one of the greatest moments in NFL history.
The Giants didn't even win a playoff game during the 2008 season, which is embarrassing considering they were the first seed and had a bye-week during Wild Card Weekend. The Giants were a lot like the Steelers during the 2008 season. They had a strong running game which mainly involved Jacobs, but they also had an amazing defense.
The Giants couldn't survive long enough to meet Pittsburgh in the big game, but it surely would have been a good one since the two squads were so much alike. The Steelers' victory over the Cardinals is considered one of the best Super Bowls of all-time, since it came down to a last minute score to win the game.
Pittsburgh earned their Super Bowl XLIII victory. Jacobs and other Giants can dream about winning the game, but in reality, they didn't come close. They fell to a divisional rival in the second round of the playoffs in a two possession loss.

Former Steelers linebacker James Harrison returns an interception for touchdown against the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, which is still considered one of the best plays in the history of the big game.
Steelers Made A Pair Of Exceptional Plays To Win Super Bowl XLIII
Super Bowl XLIII is widely considered one of the greatest games of all-time, especially one of the greatest Super Bowls of all-time. Pittsburgh made exceptional plays at the end of both halves. James Harrison returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown at the end of the first half, while Santonio Holmes caught the game-winning score near the end of the fourth quarter.
Both plays are considered two of the best in Super Bowl history. Arizona got the ball back, but the game was officially over when the Steelers sacked Kurt Warner and forced the ball loose. Pittsburgh recovered the fumble, and officially laid claim to their sixth Super Bowl victory.
