The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a true quarterback controversy for the first time this season. After a report came out on Tuesday that Russell Wilson is in line to start Sunday against the New York Jets, it left fans divided on who they wanted as their QB1. Granted, this is a great problem to have after the quarterback room the Steelers had the past few seasons, but it's hard to determine who should be the starter moving forward for some.

Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen weighed in on his quarterback situation on The Rich Eisen Show. Host Rich Eisen asked about Wilson and what he's been showing at practice. Queen said Wilson looks great.
"He looks incredible. He was making throws everywhere he needed to be. If he needs to move, I think he still does have that ability to do so."
A big question with the potential Wilson start was if he was the same Wilson that was able to scramble around the field and keep the play going. That's what Steelers fans are seeing now with Justin Fields. Fields has rushed for 231 yards this season and found the end zone himself for five touchdowns. He adds another threat to the running game behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
Not only is Wilson getting older, but he dealt with a calf injury during the preseason. Although he's deemed healthy now, it's unclear if it'll act up again from one bad hit or run on Wilson. Wilson does have veteran knowledge though and where Fields lacks on throwing, Wilson could be able to make better reads.

Queen is the quarterback and leader of the Steelers' defense. When Eisen asked Queen what leadership qualities he looks for in his quarterback on the other side of the ball, a lot of what he said could be presumed about Wilson.
"We know there will be mistakes, but the guy who doesn't flinch, who has everybody's back. Who just goes out there and just gives us a chance to win or just does their job at a high level and I think anytime adversity hits is ready to stand in the face of it."
It can be said Fields has proven those qualities as well, but Wilson has been in the league since 2012. He's someone a lot of young players grew up watching, so having him as the voice in the locker room could benefit a lot of players. It'll be hard to tell who truly deserves the starting quarterback position until we see what Wilson brings to the Steelers in a real game situation. Queen reiterated that the team will stand behind whoever is starting and both guys can win games.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, Patrick Queen (6) makes a tackle during Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Steelers' Queen Has Been Improving Each Game
Queen didn't make a huge splash for the Steelers' defense the first few weeks of the season. He registered two and four total tackles during Weeks 1 and 2. Against the Las Vegas Raiders, he tallied 13 total tackles, with six solo tackles. Both were his season high. Queen was clearly all over the field and on top of plays.
Queen showed his toughness when he told a reporter he tweaked his ankle during a play, but stayed in when the Raiders hurried to the line at the goal line.
Patrick Queen said he kind of hyperextended his knee on the play right before T.J. Watt forced the fumble at the goalline, but when the Raiders hurried to the line: "I just had to man up and say f--- the injury."

He played the rest of the game and said his knee is alright.
The linebacker has showed his leadership qualities already and hopefully he continues to mold with the team as the season continues.
