The Pittsburgh Steelers have been seen as frontrunners for several players throughout this offseason. With the front office already making a number of significant moves that have dramatically changed the roster, new voids have opened up, creating fits for these potential acquisitions. Some of these rumors have come true, while others have remained purely speculative. Still, speculation has followed the Steelers every step of the way, something that has become normal for the team during this busy offseason.

Recently, Senior NFL Insider Ian Rapoport appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to talk about a number of topics currently happening around the NFL. When the conversation shifted to the Steelers, and more specifically General Manager Omar Khan, Rapoport shared something interesting. He explained Khan's mindset and approach when it comes to players who have become available during this offseason, following the rumors of the Steelers potentially acquiring Miami Dolphins cornerback, Jalen Ramsey.
"Omar Khan has been very open-minded about everyone available," Rapoport shared.
Rapoport shared the belief along with others that while it’s unlikely the Steelers will ultimately be the landing spot for Ramsey, he wouldn’t be surprised if there was at least some level of interest from the team. Although a deal for Ramsey doesn’t seem to be in the cards at the moment, it’s clear the Steelers are still exploring their options. Based on Rapoport’s recent comments, it’s possible the team isn’t done making moves just yet, and fans could still see a few more names added to the roster before the season starts.
The Steelers have faced a lot of scrutiny this offseason for multiple moves. People have questioned not only the specific moves made, but also the timing in which they occurred. Despite the number of new additions, there are still areas of the roster that appear to be lacking depth. With a number of talented free agents still available, along with the possibility of a trade, it remains totally possible that the Steelers could look to fill these remaining gaps before the regular season begins.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan answer questions from the Pittsburgh media.
One of the most significant gaps in the Steelers' roster now is at the wide receiver position, and opinions on the matter are sharply divided. After trading away George Pickens, a noticeable void emerged in the receiving corps, even though the team acquired DK Metcalf earlier in the offseason. Despite Metcalf's experience and proven talent, there remains uncertainty about who can fill the role of the Steelers wide receiver two (WR2), a position that is crucial for the offense this upcoming season.
Fans have been wanting the Steelers to build a strong and clear wide receiver duo. In recent years, the team has relied on Pickens as their main target, which made the offense easier to shut down for defenses. In today’s NFL, having just one top receiver isn’t enough, but a solid, dependable duo of receivers is now a must. With defenses getting quicker and smarter, having more than one reliable option helps keep them guessing and gives the offense a better chance to succeed.
Steelers Still Have Plenty Of Time Left In The Offseason For A Move
In addition to Ramsey, the Steelers were also considered frontrunners to land multiple wide receivers, in both free agency and trades. With some clear gaps still on the roster, Rapoport’s comments about Khan’s open-minded approach are actually encouraging. The offseason is far from over, which means there’s still plenty of time for Pittsburgh to make another move. Even if no immediate changes happen, simply being open to improving the roster in any way is a positive sign for fans and the team's outlook.
