The Pittsburgh Steelers are working on gelling together as the team has a ton of new faces all over the roster. Pittsburgh is doing everything it can to avoid a slow start in 2025, and that begins with players forming great relationships throughout training camp in Latrobe. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is at the forefront of that as he has made plenty of new relationships with his new teammates, which can't be easy as a four-time league MVP and a 41-year old quarterback.

A quarterback's relationship with his teammates on offense is crucial when it comes to the success of that side of the ball. Rodgers is going to need to have great chemistry with his wide receivers, especially DK Metcalf. In addition to his weapons, Rodgers has also been forming great chemistry with some of his offensive line. Second-year center Zach Frazier seems to be one of Rodgers' favorite people in the building; this became clear when the quarterback sat down in a one-on-one interview with Missi Matthews. He was asked about which teammate he can get under the skin of easiest, and he quickly said Frazier.
"Oh, Zach, of course," Rodgers said. "Zach Frazier. I mean Zach is such a great player. I mean, he's going to have a long career in the league. But he's weird. Real Type A, and those are the easiest guys to get on. But you know, the center has to be the mouthpiece of the quarterback and I'm the mouthpiece of the coordinator. We all got to be in sync, but we all got to be enjoying ourselves and not taking everything too seriously out there."
The relationship between the center and the quarterback is extremely important, as those players are usually deciding certain protections before the ball is snapped. They are also the only two players who touch the football on nearly every play, which displays exactly how the two must be on the same page at all times.

Steelers rookie Zach Frazier warms up prior to his first preseason start against the Buffalo Bills during the 2024 season.
Frazier had a very good rookie year in 2024, and it looks like he will be one of the best centers in the league within the next couple of seasons. He is expected to take another step forward in 2025, but he and Rodgers have had some issues early on in training camp. Some center-quarterback exchanges were fumbled, but those are things that can be fixed rather quickly. Fans were worrying about the issue initially, but things have seemed to settle down as he and Rodgers have gotten acclimated to playing with one another much better.
The four-time MVP had high praise for his center, who is looking like he will continue the streak of legendary play at the position in Pittsburgh.
Steelers Thrive With Good Quarterback-Center Relationships
Fans in Pittsburgh know how powerful a good relationship between a quarterback and center can be. This was always the case with Maurkice Pouncey and Ben Roethlisberger. The two played together for 10 seasons, and they were each some of the best at their position. The same can be said for Mike Webster and Terry Bradshaw, as well as Dermontti Dawson and Kordell Stewart. Rodgers and Frazier however, will likely never get as close as any of those duos were due to the fact that Rodgers might be hanging it up after the 2025 season.

Frazier got into a couple scuffles during training camp and throughout the 2024 season, and he isn't afraid to stand up for his guy if Rodgers takes a cheap shot during the 2025 season. Their overall success will be vital of a Pittsburgh team in 2025 looking to finally make another deep playoff run.
