The Pittsburgh Steelers were involved in countless headlines throughout the 2025 offseason. Now that meaningful football is inching closer, fans are starting to get excited about what is to come over the course of the fall and into the winter. Aaron Rodgers will be under center for the offense, while the defense brought in key additions such as Darius Slay and Jalen Ramsey. There are plenty of big names returning as well, so the team will be in storylines each week as the campaign progresses. It will all begin in Week 1 against the New York Jets, a contest that will get CBS' second announcing crew in charge.

The Steelers have fans everywhere, which is why the organization consistently sees so many Terrible Towels when either traveling or staying home in the Steel City. Throughout the United States, local broadcasting preferences sometimes change when Pittsburgh is on national television. In Week 1, with Ian Eagle and JJ Watt on the call, the game may not be shown in every market.

Eagle and Watt are certainly a respectable duo, but the best crew maybe throughout all of professional sports is the one made up of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. In a recent sit down with Joe Musso on CBS' Beyond The Booth, Nantz teased that the Steelers are very much in the network's plans for late in the 2025 season.
"Just looking at our schedule, which is loaded, but it's very Pittsburgh back heavy at the end of the year," Nantz said. "The Aaron Rodgers signing, and I think it's going too work out. I think Aaron โ I know the momentum, I'm going against the popular viewpoint of what happened with the Jets. It was better than people gave him credit for."
Nantz has seen just a little bit of football throughout his legendary career, and plenty of Rodgers as well. It's very possible that Pittsburgh could be a mainstay for the top slot on CBS late in 2025.

Nantz didn't stop at just crediting Rodgers, however. He also made it a point to directly say that the Steelers could be on CBS for pretty much every single one of their games during a seven-week span.
"There's always a chance at the end of the year, if they're good, because we can always switch out of it, the way the schedule was handed out to us, we could have the Steelers, come late November, six out of seven weeks," Nantz noted. "That includes games against Chicago, a game against Detroit, national double header game, got a Pittsburgh-Baltimore game."
The long-time NFL announcer did note several times that Pittsburgh would have to be good for this to be the case, but it is well within the realm of possibility. The national audience may end up getting sick of seeing the black and gold that many times on a week-to-week basis, but Steelers fans all over the country would certainly be grinning from ear to ear.

Steelers Have A Ton Of Pressure To Be Good In 2025
Pittsburgh has not won a playoff game since the 2016 campaign, which is something all fans are aware of. The moves during the offseason signal that the franchise is ready to end the drought. If the team is being shown on CBS with Nantz and Romo on the call come Thanksgiving, then it's a good indication that the franchise is right in the thick of things in the AFC.
