The Pittsburgh Steelers made plenty of impactful moves throughout the course of the 2025 offseason, but the most meaningful of all was arguably the addition of veteran quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. The 41-year-old has seen it all, but it's a little bit awkward in the Steel City because he was victorious in Super Bowl XLV, as the Steelers walked off defeated once the 2010 campaign came to a close. It's hard to doubt Rodgers' prowess however, because the four-time MVP has been able to accomplish so much during his undeniably successful professional football career. He is without a doubt a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Rodgers likely has his eyes on the prize entering what could be his final season in 2025, and there isn't a doubt that he has a specific game circled on his calendar. The signal-caller has not had the chance to suit up against his former team in the Green Bay Packers since he was traded to the New York Jets prior to the 2023 campaign. When someone plays for two decades in the NFL, there are exclusive clubs that are eligible for joining, and Rodgers could is eligible for one come October
Only four quarterbacks in league history have beaten all 32 teams; Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Rodgers' predecessor in Green Bay, Brett Favre. Come Week 8 of the 2025 regular season, Rodgers will have the opportunity to join this exclusive club, but a blockbuster trade that occurred on Thursday made it that much harder for the Steelers to win during a Sunday Night Football contest.

The #Cowboys are trading All-Pro Micah Parsons to the #Packers & they agreed to a 4-year, $188M deal done by @DavidMulugheta and @AndreOdom of @AthletesFirst including $136M gtd, per me, @TomPelissero & @SlaterNFL.

Micah Parsons is one of the best defenders in all of football. He forces opposing offenses to gameplan for him specifically, which makes the week leading up to games very difficult for whichever team is lining up opposite of him. He will be an incredibly important part of Green Bay's defense, and the Packers may have just catapulted to being the favorite in the NFC, with all due respect to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Parsons has the ability to line up anywhere on the defensive side of the ball, and will be a tough player to get ready for. The Steelers weren't set to play against him in 2025, but now the tables have turned. It is going to be a lot tougher to get a win, especially if the Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC in late October. This is probably the only chance Rodgers will have to make history and beat his 32nd NFL franchise, so the Parsons trade is a significant development.
Pittsburgh's offensive line is going to be a key part to the team's success in 2025, so having to go up against one of the league's most prolific pass rushers will be a tall task. On top of having to play against both of Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson twice a year, Parsons is now added to the list of game-wrecking individuals that the Steelers will cross paths with.

Steelers Hope To Have A Stout Defense That Helps Carry Offense In 2025
Pittsburgh isn't necessarily known for being an offensive juggernaut. The defense is typically the unit that keeps the team in games, and that will certainly need to be the case when the Packers come to the Steel City. Parsons' impact cannot be understated, and if the Steelers want Rodgers to capture a little piece of history in Week 8, the defense will need to be in peak form.
