The Pittsburgh Steelers are always discussed whenever it is brought to the table that a wide receiver could potentially be on the move. The fan base in Pittsburgh has been clamoring for help at the position for the last two seasons, even though the room is completely serviceable with how the Steelers operate. The team uses multiple tight ends more often than not, which eliminates the need for too many wide receivers. Regardless of that point, fans want more talent at the position, and a veteran option could be considered, as Odell Beckham Jr. has made it quite clear he wants to continue his playing career.

Beckham is a 32-year old free agent that spent the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins. He rose to fame when he first entered the league back in 2014 after being drafted by the New York Giants. He is a two-time All-Pro, and he won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams at the end of the 2021 season. He is looking for the right opportunity to join a team during the 2025 season, and he recently joined The Pivot where he discussed his intentions to continue playing. Beckham mentioned the Steelers more than once as a possibility.
"I don't know if this is even a pitch, l'm just like, I look at the LA Rams, I look at the Steelers. I know, was it Calvin Austin, right? He kind of just, something was happening," said Beckham. "The Chiefs. And you definitely gotta see me back in that blue thing right before I get outta here. It's my creed to those fans."
The veteran wide receiver mentioned Pittsburgh potentially needing help at wide receiver after Calvin Austin III went down in their Week 4 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland. It is unclear how much time Austin will actually miss, if any at all. Head Coach Mike Tomlin left the door open for Austin to return in Week 6, which was quite a surprise.

Beckham intends to play at some point during the 2025 season, but it has to be in an ideal situation. That could mean playing for a coach like Tomlin, or it could mean returning to a team like the Giants. The veteran mentioned Pittsburgh once again later in his interview, which makes it sound like the Steelers could be a real option for Beckham.
"I'm going to keep it going," Beckham said. "You going to see me. Maybe at the Steelers, or the Rams, or the Giants."
It is hard to imagine how impactful Beckham could be in Pittsburgh as the offense can barely get the ball to its star wide receiver DK Metcalf. Beckham's best option might be to return to New York, which is a spot he could certainly see the field and produce a good amount. It would also be a good ending to his career to finish where he started.

Steelers Could See If Odell Beckham Jr. Has More Left In The Tank
Beckham also spent some time with the Baltimore Ravens in previous years. The 2023 season was his first time returning to the field after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl while playing with the Rams. He took the 2022 season off, and when he came back, he had clearly lost a step. Over his last two seasons, he played in just 23 games while catching 44 passes for 620 yards and three touchdowns. He could maybe help the Steelers, but it is hard to imagine he is a serious step up over anyone else on the roster at this juncture.
