The Pittsburgh Steelers still sit in first place in the AFC North with a 4-2 record in the 2025 season. Of course, the Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals was far from ideal, but Pittsburgh will be hopeful to redeem themselves. In Week 8, they will get a chance for that redemption at home in Acrisure Stadium against the Green Bay Packers. This game carries a major storyline, as it will mark Aaron Rodgers’ first time playing against the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers stands with Mike Tomlin before a game while he was the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
It will be important for Rodgers to get a win over the team he spent 18 seasons with, winning four MVP awards and a Super Bowl along the way. A Super Bowl he won over Pittsburgh, one that many Steelers fans still have nightmares about to this day. To achieve that, he will need superior protection from his offensive line to withstand the Packers’ relentless pass rush. Green Bay's defensive front is formidable, and keeping Rodgers clean will be a key factor in the game’s outcome.
Steelers insider Brian Batko revealed a new development surrounding the team’s offensive line. Starting center Zach Frazier is reportedly nursing an injury but remains hopeful that he can suit up for Week 8 against Green Bay. The Steelers will need their line at full strength to both protect Rodgers and establish the run game, making Frazier’s status a storyline to watch as kickoff approaches.
"Steelers center Zach Frazier said his calf injury came on the second drive in Cincy," Batko said on Thursday. "How does it feel now? 'Sore.' But he expects he'll be able to play Sunday night."
Batko got the chance to catch up with Frazier and get more information about the injury. It’s Frazier’s calf that has been bothering him, and the issue arose early in the Week 7 contest in Cincinnati.

Frazier is clearly sore but remains optimistic that he can play Sunday night. Batko continued with the updates.
"Steelers actually scaled back Zach Frazier to a DNP today after he was limited yesterday, so this is helpful intel to have from the locker room post-practice," Batko said. "Obviously he could get the red light Sunday from trainers but it's good to hear from the hoss's mouth."
Batko revealed that the team’s coaching staff elected to go easy on Frazier, who has been nursing a calf injury. The move was intended to manage his soreness and give him the best chance to be ready for Sunday’s crucial primetime matchup against the Packers.
Steelers fans now find themselves in a tense waiting game, eager to see if Frazier will receive the green light to play.
Steelers' Zach Frazier Fully Confident He Will Play In Week 8 Against Green Bay
Hearing Frazier express confidence that he will be able to suit up is certainly encouraging, but the new development that he could still be held out by the training staff adds a layer of concern. The center position is vital for both the running game and quarterback protection, and any limitation on Frazier could have ripple effects on Pittsburgh’s offensive efficiency.

This upcoming game is already high-stakes, not just because it’s a primetime contest, but also because it marks Rodgers’ first time facing the Packers after 18 seasons with the team. Having Frazier healthy and available will be critical to giving the Steelers a chance to compete at the highest level. Fans will be watching closely, hoping for positive news before kickoff. For now, however, it does sound like Frazier is set to play.
