The Pittsburgh Steelers have had no shortage of legendary players contribute to the team's success over the years. Many of them are fondly remembered by the fans, and even today, the Steelers currently roster many future legends that others will remember in the same way. For four of these legends in Steelers history, their ultimate dreams will potentially be finalized by 2026. Earlier on Wednesday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame conducted their voting process for inducting the future members of the Class of 2026, and four former Steelers legends were among the 52 modern-era players that advanced in the voting process.

Those four former Steelers players are former wide receiver Hines Ward, former offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey, former linebacker James Harrison, and former kicker Gary Anderson. For Pouncey, it is his first year of eligibility, which gives him a good chance to be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2026, an honor which many Steelers fans will likely be very happy to see the former nine-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro receive. For the rest of them, it will not be their first time advancing in voting to become future Hall of Famers, with Ward having the most appearances out of the group, having advanced for the ninth consecutive year. Ward was one of the Steelers' most electric and hard-hitting wide receivers who was one of former quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets in the passing game, and would be a welcome addition to the Hall of Fame.

Anderson makes it to the next stage of voting for the Class of 2026 Hall of Fame for the second year in a row, serving as one of the Steelers' greatest kickers of the 1980s and into the early 1990s. Harrison, on the other hand, has advanced to the next stage for the third year in a row. Harrison's interception in Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals is a moment that Steelers fans still remember fondly to this day, on top of his other very long list of legendary plays on defense that aided the Steelers' quest for six Super Bowl rings.

Soon, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be conducting additional voting to reduce the number of eligible candidates for the Class of 2026 Hall of Fame from 50 to 25, and from there, the voting will continue all the way until they enshrine the full Class of 2026 next year directly before Super Bowl LX. Out of the four Steelers candidates for the Class of 2026 Hall of Fame, Steelers fans should be excited about the potential for all four to hopefully enter the Hall of Fame, but next year, there's potential for another Steelers legend to enter the Hall of Fame as well -- one that even more Steelers fans are going to be very excited to see.

Steelers Legendary Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Becomes Eligible For The Hall Of Fame In 2027

Roethlisberger becomes eligible for the Hall of Fame himself in 2027, and there's a potential path for him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside any of the four Steelers players who might not get inducted into the Class of 2026. Even if one of the four legendary Steelers players misses out on the Class of 2026, they may get another shot next year alongside Roethlisberger, who many believe will get a first ballot Hall of Fame induction.

Roethlisberger was one of the greatest, if not the greatest quarterback to ever play for the Steelers, and a first ballot entry would be very deserving for Roethlisberger. Having him be inducted alongside some of his former teammates would be an incredible story, if it were to occur.
