The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently sitting at 3-2 in one of the NFL's toughest divisions. All four teams in the AFC North are above .500, which means it is going to be a battle throughout the final 12 regular-season games. In the Steel City, there could be some concerns developing on the offensive side of the ball. Michael Pittman Jr., Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek are all banged up. None of them are expected to play in Week 6, so the team is very light in the wide receivers' room. The hope is that at least one of them can return in Paris (Week 7).

The Steelers are all in for 2026 with it being Aaron Rodgers final year in the NFL. It could make legitimate sense to go out and acquire a superstar-type of player if the goal is to make a Super Bowl run. The problem with that is, however, that those types of difference-makers do not grow on trees during the middle of any given season. There is one intriguing name out there, though.

Tyreek Hill suffered a gruesome knee injury in 2025 that ended his tenure with the Miami Dolphins. As he works his way back from that with rehab, the likelihood of him joining a team relatively soon is high.

Pittsburgh could make a lot of sense for the former All-Pro. The Steelers really could have entered the equation on Tuesday night. Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did an exclusive one-on-one interview with Josh Moser. When discussing what the wideout is looking for in his next team, literally everything that was said by Rosenhaus could be related to Rodgers and Co.

"Well, you know, when you sign with a team midseason, he'd like to go to a winner," Rosenhaus said. "Number two is, as a wide receiver, you'd like to go to a team that needs a wide receiver. Number three, you'd like to go to a team that's got a pretty good quarterback. And, number four, Tyreek's gonna bring a lot of impact. We got to get a fair contract, and that's always complex to negotiate in the middle of the season."

Pittsburgh is in the middle of a tight AFC North battle and has a history of winning. The Steelers need help at wide receiver and also just so happened to have a four-time MVP playing quarterback. On top of that, Rodgers is playing some of the best football that he has in years. Lastly, Omar Khan has over $15 million in cap space to make a deal work.

Not everything Rosenhaus had to say was positive, however. Moser pressed the agent about his client's health. In a pretty cryptic response, it was made pretty clear that the former Super Bowl champion isn't fully ready to go just yet.

"I mean, I don't know that he's 100% today, but he's close," Rosenhaus noted. "And, he'll get there really soon, but I think that's probably something you have to wait until he gets out and practices and gets with the team before, say, he's 100%. But, he really is right there."

Hill's post on social media noted that he was ready for cold weather. That could mean a lot of different things, but it also doesn't rule out the Steelers. In addition, it could hint that he doesn't envision himself suiting up for a game until around Thanksgiving time. The most important thing for him and his agent right now is getting some kind of contract done. That, however, might be contingent on health and availability.

Steelers Have Slight Advantage Over Hill's Old Team

Pittsburgh and the Kansas City Chiefs might not be the only two teams that could be interested in Hill. However, reuniting with Patrick Mahomes could be really attractive for the pass-catcher. With that said, Rosenhaus was clear about wanting a fair contract. Cap space is a bit of a myth and can always be worked around, but the Steelers have over $15 million while the Chiefs are hovering around just over $3 million as of Week 6.
