Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers are being thrown back into the fire when it comes to rumors surrounding a potential trade for a wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk ended up staying with the San Francisco 49ers, but now a former All-Pro could find himself in a new home sooner rather than later. Davante Adams has quickly emerged as a trade candidate after turmoil has ensued for the Las Vegas Raiders. General Manager Omar Khan is likely to pick up the phone and call over to Tom Telesco out West.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Wednesday morning that a couple specific teams have an interest in Adams. The Steelers were unfortunately not mentioned by the insider, but that doesn't mean Khan and co. won't be in on the sweepstakes.
The Jets and Cowboys are among the many teams monitoring the Davante Adams situation. Both have checked in with the Raiders. I’m told at this point that Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price — but Adams wants out ASAP.

A lot of the attention will surround an Adams reunion with Aaron Rodgers, but the Dallas Cowboys had no interest being aggressive during 2024 free agency, so it is hard to believe that Jerry Jones would be heavily interested in the pass-catcher.
The most important thing to take out of Russini's post on social media is that Adams wants to be out of Las Vegas as soon as possible. The Aiyuk saga dragged out for months, but this time, a trade involving a big-time receiver could last just a matter of days. If that's the case, Khan won't have much time to plead his case and put together the best package.

Josina Anderson also has been all over the Adams news and noted on Wednesday that a potential landing spot is important for Adams because of the stage of his career that he is in. The Steelers currently fit a major part of a potential desire for Adams, and that is competing in the playoffs.
Adams Update: My understanding (as of this morning) is that the #Jets are currently focusing on getting prepared to play the #Vikings & leaving for London. However, regarding yesterday's news of Davante Adams' reported trade request, there will at least be due diligence and… https://t.co/xvt4csrLP0

Adams has never played with Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, but the prospect of joining a team led by Head Coach Mike Tomlin might be enough to trump the idea of reuniting with one of his former quarterbacks.

Steelers May Be 1 Big Piece Away From Dynamic Offense
Adams could be exactly what Pittsburgh's offense needs to compete with some of the best in the AFC. A trade may be complex due to his contract and interest from other teams, but acquiring the former All-Pro would go a long way in categorizing the offense as dangerous. Time will tell, but there's no doubt that Khan is likely making some phone calls on Wednesday morning.
