Pat McAfee Delivers Epic Rant On Steelers' Super Bowl Chances After Week 10 Win Over Washington

The Pittsburgh Steelers are riding high after their thrilling Week 10, 28-27 victory over the Washington Commanders. Originally, many fans and analysts saw this matchup on the Steelers' 2024 schedule as one of the season's easier games. However, the Commanders have emerged as one of the surprise teams of the year, making this a much tougher contest than anticipated. 

Entering Washington as underdogs, the Steelers faced a formidable challenge and found themselves trailing. Yet they rallied, with Russell Wilson leading the charge to secure his third straight win since returning as the starting quarterback.

With this win, the Steelers now stand at an impressive 7-2, positioning themselves as genuine contenders in the AFC. Their recent performances, especially Wilson's comeback leadership, have begun to sway doubters and catch the attention of fans and analysts across the league. On Monday, Pat McAfee passionately endorsed the Steelers as true Super Bowl contenders. McAfee, known for his bold opinions, declared that this Steelers team has what it takes to compete with the best, calling attention to their remarkable turnaround and Wilson’s recent success under center.

"The Pittsburgh Steelers are the real deal this year it feels like and the reason is that dangerous son of a bi*** Russell Wilson," McAfee said. "He's having team meetings on the offensive side every single Thursday night... he said to Mike Florio that a lot of people talk about the positive stuff and how it has to be fake. I believe in this. This is literally what I believe."

The Steelers were expected to improve in the 2024 season, but there were plenty of questions surrounding the team, especially with so many new arrivals on the offensive side of the ball.

McAfee believes it’s all finally starting to come together for Pittsburgh, with the team finding its stride at the most ideal time.

"George Pickens is playing his absolute best ball, Pat Freiermuth is playing his best ball, Austin is playing his best ball," McAfee said. "The offensive line seemingly is blocking better and you got [Najee Harris] and [Jaylen] Warren, needs to hold onto the rock, but they are running the ball all over the place. This Pittsburgh Steelers team is for real and I think they have what it takes to win late."

The Steelers’ schedule is about to get tougher as they dive into AFC North play in Week 11, starting with a showdown against the Baltimore Ravens. It’s a challenging road ahead, but at 7-2 and playing well-rounded, complementary football, the Steelers are in an excellent position. 

Their defense has been relentless, the offense is proving it can be explosive, and the special teams have been outstanding.
