The Pittsburgh Steelers had a lot more pending free agents heading into the 2025 offseason than they did a year ago, and it has been bittersweet to see some players move on to their new homes in the league. However, Pittsburgh did decide to bring some players back for the 2025 season. This includes wide receiver Scotty Miller, who was effective when called upon for the Steelers in 2024, and he is fairly versatile in what he can do on the football field.

Miller isn't physically daunting, but he ran run clean routes and has reliable hands. At no point was he expected to be a high-impact player for Pittsburgh, but he played well in his role when he needed to. On the season, he caught five passes for 69 yards, and two of those catches came for first downs. The Steelers decided they wanted Miller back in 2025, and he inked a new deal on Thursday.

It is a one-year deal for Miller. Miller can be effective in other areas of the game besides offense, and he contributed on special teams, even holding a kick for Chris Boswell during Pittsburgh's Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Miller was initially signed to a one-year deal by Pittsburgh ahead of the 2024 season. He is a Super Bowl Champion, therefore he has played in some meaningful games throughout his career. The speedy wide receiver was a bit of a disappointing signing during the 2024 offseason as the wide receiver position was really hurting in Pittsburgh, but after the addition of DK Metcalf, Miller should be able to be a great role player for the Steelers.
Steelers' Scotty Miller Will Have A Similar Year In 2025
There were some instances where Miller was inactive during the 2024 season, and that trend will continue in 2025. He is a similar player to Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III, so if both of those players are healthy, it is going to be difficult for Miller to get on the field on offense.

Metcalf and George Pickens are the two primary receivers, and there isn't really anywhere for Miller to squeeze in naturally. He will be on the brink of making the roster in training camp, but his abilities and willingness to play special teams might put him over the hump.
