The Pittsburgh Steelers finally have their quarterback position figured out for the 2025 season. Many football fans have strong opinions on the ever-polarizing Rodgers, known both for his incredible talent and his outspoken personality. However, amid all the speculation and debate, one moment stood out during the early stages of his arrival. Rodgers made a unique request that caught everyone by surprise, not just about playbooks or training schedules, but something far more personal.

In an article via Steelers insider Brooke Pryor on ESPN, Rodgers asked Quarterbacks Coach Tom Arth for a unique playbook, unlike the standard ones everyone uses in the technology age. As the world has innovated, it’s basically impossible for anyone not to use technology, even when it comes to the playbook. However, the 41-year-old quarterback Rodgers wanted something old school.

"When Rodgers first arrived at the facility, he asked Quarterbacks Coach Tom Arth if he could have the playbook printed out," Pryor said. "An old-school guy, Rodgers said he prefers taking notes with pencil on paper printouts of the offensive installs, rather than using a tablet. Arth relayed the request to administrative assistant Chrissy Bulger. Prior to Rodgers' first offensive meeting, Bulger assembled a binder and also included a pouch of pencils, erasers and highlighters."

As noted, Rodgers’ request was shared with administrative assistant Chrissy Bulger, who crafted a very cool, old school style playbook just for him.

The playbook was meticulously organized and included everything Rodgers would need for his first day with the team. Arth spoke about another moment between him and Rodgers that really showed how misunderstood he is in the locker room.

"After the meeting, Aaron came and asked, 'Did you say Chrissy put this together?'" Arth said. "He went over and first he thanked her for putting it all together, and he gave her back the pencils and the pen and the highlighters and said, 'I already bought my own. And I don't want you to have to order any more.' It was just a very thoughtful way to introduce himself to Chrissy and start building that relationship. That definitely stood out to me."

Rodgers has generated a lot of media attention and controversy throughout his NFL career. On one hand, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, with a resume full of impressive records and achievements.

On the other hand, Rodgers is known for being outspoken about his controversial beliefs, which has made him one of the most polarizing figures in football. This mix of extraordinary talent and divisive opinions has caused many people to form strong, often negative, judgments about him.
