Aaron Rodgers put on an absolute show during his Pittsburgh Steelers debut. The veteran threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns in Pittsburgh's Week 1 victory against the New York Jets, as the quarterback had the best start to a season that he has had in recent memory. Rodgers appeared to be fully healthy following a brutal Achilles injury suffered in 2023, and sent a major message to the entire NFL on Sunday.

Rodgers spent the past two seasons in New York with the Jets. His time in New York was a failure for all involved, as Rodgers suffered a torn Achillies on the opening drive of the 2023 season and had an underwhelming year in 2024.
The veteran quarterback's tenure with the Jets didn't necessarily end on good terms either, as drama surrounding Rodgers and his former team continued to circulate throughout the offseason. Rodgers took a moment to tease Jets fans following the win as well, as the Steelers' starter was seen holding his hand up to his ear as the fans continued to boo him on his way out and into the locker room.

The Steelers' offense could quickly emerge as one of the most underrated units in all of football if Rodgers continues to perform at a high level. Speculation has continued to surround the Week 1 matchup throughout the entire offseason, as Rodgers' playful gesture towards Jets fans was the result of months of offseason trash talk. Rodgers and the Steelers will look to build upon their dramatic Week 1 victory and carry the momentum into next week's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rodgers earned the right to taunt Jets' fans after the game. The veteran quarterback shined throughout the entire game and was a key factor in the Week 1 victory. Rodgers and the rest of the Steelers' offense will now turn their attention towards the first home matchup of the year against the Seahawks where the veteran quarterback will look to pick up right where he left off in New Jersey.
Steelers' Aaron Rodgers And DK Metcalf Could Be A Top Deep Ball Duo In 2025
Rodgers was not the only veteran that shined during his Steelers' debut. DK Metcalf was elite during his first game with Pittsburgh, as the former Seahawk led the team in receiving yards with 83. Metcalf was traded from the Seahawks during the offseason and instantly signed a five-year $150 million deal with the Steelers.

Metcalf and Rodgers could quickly find themselves among the top deep ball threats in all of football should they continue developing chemistry throughout the season. Metcalf is expected to be one of Rodgers' favorite targets in 2025 and the veteran duo's connection in Week 1 is an extremely promising sight to see moving forward. Both veterans will look to carry Week 1's momentum into next weekend where the Steelers will face the Seahawks in the first official home game of the year.

Rodgers earned the right to poke fun at Jets' fans following his Week 1 performance. The veteran quarterback truly shined throughout the entire game and could quickly find himself among the top quarterbacks in the league once again if he remains healthy. Rodgers will look to continue playing at a high level next weekend as the Steelers find themselves in prime position to begin the season at 2-0.
