The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered multiple significant injuries during a Week 4 win in Ireland. Calvin Austin lll left the game with an injury and was unable to return to the matchup at any point. Pittsburgh could find itself with multiple key defensive players returning from injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 despite losing key players on offense, as Joey Porter Jr. and Alex Highsmith have been sidelined with injuries for the majority of the young season.

Porter has appeared in just one game this year. The talented cornerback has been dealing with a hamstring injury, but could be ready to make his return against Cleveland in Week 6. Highsmith suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, but both players could continue to recover throughout the bye week and may be in prime position to make their respective returns on October 12th.

Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo took a moment to share his thoughts as to who he believes could make their returns to action, and he believes Porter and Highsmith should be ready to go.
"I think he was close to coming back for the Vikings game, they held him out." Fittipaldo stated in regards to Porter. "I do think he's going to be ready to go for Cleveland."
Fittipaldo continued to highlight key injuries on the offensive side of the ball, as Jaylen Warren could also be ready to go by next Sunday and may very well make his return against the Browns.
"I think Alex Highsmith is going to be back, I think Jaylen Warren will be back."
The Steelers' run game has gotten off to a slow start in 2025. Kenneth Gainwell was able to explode for 99 yards on the ground along with two touchdowns in Dublin, as the talented running back was nothing short of elite starting in replacement for Warren. Pittsburgh will need Warren fully healthy as soon as possible because the promising running back has played a major role in the Steelers' offense throughout the early stages of the season.
Porter and Highsmith returning from injury would be huge news for the Steelers' defense. Superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 4 win against the Minnesota Vikings, and Ramsey's timetable for a return currently remains up in the air. Porter would be a massive addition to Pittsburgh's secondary if he can prove to be fully healthy, as the young cornerback will need to play at a very high level while Ramsey is potentially sidelined.

Steelers' Warren Could Thrive Against Browns If Healthy
Warren could be tasked with a major role against the Browns in Week 6. The talented running back has made a number of big plays in both the passing and run game in 2025, and the playmaker has solidified himself as one of the better dual-threat backs in all of football. If Warren's workload continues to increase as the season moves on, he could quickly find himself with a key role for the rest of the year.
Warren currently has the second most receiving yards on the team with 142. Warren has been nothing short of elite in the passing game to begin the season as the running back could continue to play a major role in both the pass and run game for the remainder of the year. The Steelers will face the Browns in Week 6, and Warren could be slated with a major workload if he proves to be fully healthy.
Fittipaldo's injury updates are very relieveing to hear. It will be crucial that Porter plays at a high leve, and the re-addition of Highsmith will be massive for the unit as a whole as well. The Steelers are on a bye in Week 5, but Pittsburgh will be back in action next Sunday against the Browns at 1:00 PM EST.
