Pittsburgh Steelers superstar wide receiver DK Metcalf is coming off a big-time game in Dublin, Ireland. He caught five passes for 126 receiving yards and one touchdown, highlighted by an 80-yard catch-and-run from Aaron Rodgers early in the game that helped set the tone. His performance showed why he’s considered one of the NFL’s most explosive playmakers.

Now, Metcalf is preparing for his first taste of AFC North football as a Steeler. Traded to Pittsburgh ahead of the 2025 season, he has already made an impact both on the field and in the locker room. While his presence has been welcomed, Metcalf knows the competition in the AFC North is fierce, with each game posing a significant challenge for the Steelers.
Speaking with ESPN insider Brooke Pryor on Wednesday, Metcalf shared that he’s ready for what lies ahead in the division. After an impressive start with the team, all eyes will be on him as he takes on the high-intensity matchups that define AFC North play. His experience, skill set, and athleticism will be critical as the Steelers aim to make a statement in one of the league’s most brutal divisions.
"I've heard that this is where real football is played," Metcalf said while speaking about the AFC North. "I'm just looking forward to lining up against every other team that we play, including Sunday."
Metcalf was careful not to overhype AFC North games, emphasizing that each matchup in the NFL carries its own importance. That said, divisional games often carry extra weight, and the Steelers know the stakes are high. Quarterback play in the AFC North has been hit hard by injuries this season, and the Browns will turn to rookie Dillon Gabriel under center. The Steelers’ pass rush will have a prime opportunity to pressure the rookie and make life difficult for him on Sunday.

Kennedy Rodriguez / Cleveland Browns
Browns QB Dillon Gabriel drops back to throw the football during a game against the Vikings in the 2025 NFL season.
Gabriel made his first start overseas on foreign soil against the Minnesota Vikings. Facing a tough Brian Flores-led defense, he didn’t get the win, but for a first career start, he performed better than most expected. Gabriel completed 57.6% of his passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns, while not throwing any interceptions and nearly leading the Browns to victory. While playing against Gabriel might seem manageable on paper, the NFL is unpredictable, and anything can happen on game day.
As for Metcalf and the Steelers’ offense, the Browns’ defense has been strong this season. Their front seven is disciplined and capable of creating significant pressure on quarterbacks, meaning the Steelers’ offensive line will need to be sharp and cohesive to protect their quarterback and open lanes for plays. Metcalf’s explosive ability will be a key factor in keeping the offense balanced and dynamic.
Steelers' DK Metcalf Looking To Build On His Big Week 4
Metcalf will also be looking to build on his impressive performance in Dublin. With his size, speed, and experience, he’ll be a focal point of the Steelers’ game plan, tasked with stretching the field and creating opportunities in what promises to be a hard-fought divisional battle.

In Week 4, Metcalf put on a box-office performance, but the Steelers used Week 5 to rest and regroup with a bye. Now, in Week 6, Metcalf will be looking to continue producing in this pivotal AFC North matchup. Steelers fans are eager to see their new players inject energy and excitement into the division rivalries.
