The Pittsburgh Steelers had a lot of questions surrounding the team going into the 2025 season, and a lot of that had to do with the roster turnover that was seen throughout the 2025 offseason. The major addition was Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, and he joined Pittsburgh after a rocky two seasons with the New York Jets. During his time there, Rodgers was consistently in headlines as he was often painted as a villain that clashed with various coaches on the staff, and many were worried the same issues would present themselves in Pittsburgh. So far, that has not been the case.

Rodgers has been a polarizing personality throughout his long NFL career, but it has been made clear ever since he arrived in Pittsburgh that he is not who the media has painted him out to be. He is a good teammate and leader, and he has been a great addition to the Steelers as he has played well and led the team to a 4-1 start to the 2025 season.

There were some concerns about whether or not Rodgers and Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith would get along, and a recent report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler put all of that worry to bed.

"It's also noteworthy how Rodgers and Smith have hit it off," Fowler wrote. "As right tackle Troy Fautanu told me recently, Rodgers and Smith are both quick-witted and sarcastic, kindred souls in that way, razzing each other like old friends during team meetings. 'They are always messing around with each other,' Fautanu said. 'It's a healthy dynamic.' Rodgers and Smith also respect each other's football acumen. It's a match that has worked well."

This report from Fowler recounting comments from right tackle Troy Fautanu should put all worry and concern to rest. The relationship between the coordinator and quarterback seems to be going strong, and Rodgers has been very complimentary when discussing Smith's game plan with the media after contests.
