The Pittsburgh Steelers could very well be buyers by the time the NFL's November 4th trade deadline rolls around. When Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback and Mike Tomlin is the head coach, the team's goal is to win. After a tough 33-31 loss on the road against the rival Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, Pittsburgh could be eager to patch some holes and improve the roster in an effort to prepare for a possible deep playoff run. After the Steelers' defense gave up 33 points and 470 total yards to Joe Flacco and co., it is clear that there are some real issues on that side of the ball.

Steelers General Manager Omar Khan addresses members of the media with confidence and transparency, sharing insights on the teamβs strategies, offseason moves, and vision for the future of Pittsburgh football.
Steelers General Manager Omar Khan can either look to add defensive help at the deadline, or he could look to bolster the offense.
If Khan has any interest in adding another weapon on offense for Rodgers and co., there might be a potential option available out in Las Vegas. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who requested a trade in August, has been identified by several teams as a potential trade target.
"A few teams have spotlighted Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers as a potential trade target," Rapoport wrote. "Meyers, who requested a trade in August to no avail, also is in the final year of his contract and could be a rental for an acquiring team."
Rapoport also mentioned that the Raiders could be hesitant to trade Meyers, seeing as Head Coach Pete Carroll is looking to build a winner in Vegas and might not be looking to give away any talent. Furthermore, Rapoport noted the Steelers as a team that is in the market for a wide receiver. It will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh can strike a deal on a trade for a wide receiver before the deadline.
The Steelers have gone all-in for the 2025 season after making notable moves such as signing Rodgers, trading for All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and signing Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf.

Steelers' Offense Is Playing Well
While fans in Pittsburgh might have a sour taste in their mouths after they witnessed their team's defense get picked apart by Flacco and the Bengals, they should be thrilled about the way Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith's offense has performed through the first six games of the 2025 season.
Led by their four-time MVP quarterback, the Steelers have recorded 24 or more points in four of their six games, along with multiple games of 30 or more points. Rodgers has had multiple four-touchdown games and looks to be proving doubters wrong.
Metcalf is on pace to notch 1,150 receiving yards, starting running back Jaylen Warren is on pace to record over 1,400 scrimmage yards, and tight ends Jonnu Smith, Darnell Washington, and Pat Freiermuth are each making a strong impact (tight ends combined for four touchdown catches in Thursday night's loss to the Bengals).

While plenty of players are stepping up, there is always room for improvement, which is why a trade for a pass-catcher such as Meyers could be incredibly helpful. The 28-year-old is coming off a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2024 and has four career seasons of at least 800 yards receiving.
Meyers, who was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in 2019, could be a really good complement to Metcalf, and even though some might think that the defense needs to be addressed at the trade deadline, an extra offensive weapon could be good medicine for Tomlin and his team. Time will tell if Pittsburgh is willing to go even more all-in on the 2025 season or not.
