Part of the reason why the Pittsburgh Steelers brought future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh is because of his legendary resume and overall experience when it comes to playing his position at a high level. So far, his time with the team has been good. Through six games, the Steelers are sitting in first place in the AFC North at 4-2 and Rodgers has a passer rating of 105. Additionally, the former Green Bay Packers legend is on pace to throw 40 touchdowns, which is almost unheard of at 41 years of age. He is also holding his teammates, especially on offense, accountable for everything.

While on Nightcap, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, alongside Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, spoke about Rodgers holding Steelers players accountable.
"Aaron has to hold the players accountable," said Johnson. "Aaron Rodgers understands that every play counts. He has a standard that he has to abide by."
Johnson brought this up after he and Sharpe referenced Steelers running back Jaylen Warren misreading a play-call earlier in the team's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, which he thought was a flea flicker. That was a play that Rodgers and Warren wish they had back considering they ended up losing the game by two points. It also didn't help that Head Coach Mike Tomlin's defense struggled to stop opposing quarterback Joe Flacco and the Bengals' offense.

Rodgers, who was visibly upset with Warren after the play, has seemingly made it part of his mission to hold every player who is on the field with him accountable. This is something that Tomlin has had a hard time doing on offense since the days of Ben Roethlisberger. While the defense over the years, aside from the start of this season, has usually had plenty of success because of veteran leadership and talent, it has been the offense that has struggled to find consistency because there haven't been many veterans, especially at the quarterback position. With Rodgers there now, the ceiling for Arthur Smith's offense can be higher because great players demand those around them to be better.
Steelers Will Need Aaron Rodgers' Leadership Now More Than Ever
While Rodgers has gotten a bad rap over the years for not necessarily being the best leader, the four-time MVP and Super Bowl champion is once again proving that he is exactly the right man to lead his current team. Steelers fans should feel somewhat excited to see the all-time great get upset with his teammates if they step out of line. Being a leader doesn't always mean that you are going to be everybody's best friend. After the team's upset loss in Cincinnati on Thursday night, it will need all the leadership it can get.

Over the next four weeks, Pittsburgh is set to welcome in back-to-back division leaders in the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts. Of course, there will be a whole list of headlines that come when Green Bay visits the Steel City seeing as Rodgers spent 18 years of his storied career there. After these two games, Tomlin, Rodgers, and co. will travel out to face quarterback Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers before coming back home to face the Bengals, whom they just lost to.
This could be one of the defining stretches in a season for a team that is desperately looking to contend for a Super Bowl. With Tomlin looking to win back the trust of a lot of fans and with Rodgers looking to try and capture a second Super Bowl ring, the sense of urgency and desire to lead needs to be there for this team. It appears as though Rodgers is way ahead of the curve, which should make the fans of Pittsburgh happy. Now, it is on everyone else to follow his lead. Remember, few have accomplished what the 21-year veteran has accomplished in the NFL.
