The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to 4-2 after a disappointing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football in Week 7. The good news for the Steelers is they get a chance to erase that memory quickly if they can secure a win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. The Packers, led by Jordan Love, are a talented football team, and this Acrisure Stadium showdown takes on extra significance with Aaron Rodgers playing against the team he spent 18 seasons with, won four MVPs, and even captured a Super Bowl over the Steelers.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers yells at Broderick Jones after he tackled him during a celebration.
The Week 8 matchup has plenty of storyline intrigue, especially after a memorable moment involving Rodgers and Steelers offensive tackle Broderick Jones. After Rodgers threw a clutch 68-yard touchdown pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth, Jones was caught up in the excitement and tackled Rodgers during his celebration.

Rodgers reacted in the moment, clearly upset that Jones celebrated in such an unexpected fashion. Despite the brief tension, both players have since made light of the situation, showing that their relationship remains strong. Speaking with ESPN insider Brooke Pryor on Wednesday, Rodgers shared exactly what he texted Jones after the incident.
"I am staying clean, the only tackle I had the other night was from Broderick," Rodgers said while speaking with Brooke Pryor on Wednesday. "Besides that, I am feeling very good."
Rodgers said this with a laugh, and the entire group of media members immediately started cracking up.

The exchange offered a glimpse into Rodgersβ sense of humor and the camaraderie between him and his former opponents.
"Brod is always the first one to come find me after a play," Rodgers said. "It could be like the first big pass down to DK Metcalf on third down, he comes and daps me up. What you didn't see in the video, right after the throw, he's coming up to me and shaking me and shaking me. I texted him after and said, 'Hey man, I love your energy and I love everything you are about, but also I am 41, Ok.' He can't be out there tackling me like that, but I love Brod. We had a couple of laughs about it and I told him I am getting him next. He better watch his back."
As the Steelers prepare for the Packers, fans will be watching to see if there are any playful reminders of that celebration on the field, adding another layer of drama to an already highly anticipated matchup.
Rodgers has clearly handled this situation with grace, and Jones has also managed it admirably. Sometimes, humans, even professional football players, can get too excited, which can lead to a bit of friendly fire. In this case, Rodgers wanted to make it clear to Jones that while he loves that energy, he needs to avoid tackling him during celebrations.
Steelers' Broderick Jones Better Watch His Back
Steelers fans would lose their minds laughing if Rodgers actually threw a touchdown pass and then went and tackled Jones. There was a lot of critique aimed at Jones early in the season, especially in 2024, but all he has done is put his head down and continue to improve.

Rodgers speaks very highly about the type of player Jones is, and that says a lot. Jones has become a key part of keeping Rodgersβ jersey clean, and he has done such an improved job lately that he had to tackle Rodgers just to remind him.
