Steelers Give Fans Terrific News With Clean Bill Of Health Ahead Of AFC North Title Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the team's biggest game of the 2025 season as the group will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football in Week 18. The winner of the game will be the AFC North's lone representative in the playoffs, and the champion of the division will be hosting a playoff game on Wild Card Weekend. This is one of the instances where a Week 18 matchup is a playoff game essentially in its own right, despite the fact that it is still being played under the guise of a regular season matchup.

The Steelers will be hosting this contest with the Ravens, and the group won the first matchup between the two sides earlier in the season. Pittsburgh had a lot of questions surrounding the health of some key players going into this game, but it was announced after practice on Friday that the team has no injury designations for the matchup. This means all players who were fighting injuries throughout the week will be good to go, which is a good sign for a great matchup on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh has a clean bill of health going into this game, which means a lot of key players will be returning to the lineup. The most notable player that will be returning is outside linebacker TJ Watt, who has missed the last handful of games after suffering a scary lung injury while going through treatment at the team's facility. He is expected to potentially be on a snap count, but he will be on the field for the Steelers.

Watt's return is massive for the defense, but the secondary will also be whole once again as well. Both James Pierre and Brandin Echols are good to go for the game against the Ravens. This is good as both players have been unsung heroes for Pittsburgh in 2025, but it also allows Jalen Ramsey to solely focus on playing safety, which is where he has thrived in Pittsburgh. Ramsey had been filling in at slot cornerback while Echols has been out, but now that won't be an issue anymore.

The Steelers are also getting some key pieces back on offense. Calvin Austin III will be returning against the Ravens which gives Pittsburgh a legitimate threat that can stretch the field, and it also gives Aaron Rodgers back a wide receiver that he has been building chemistry with throughout the entire season. The passing game struggled in Week 17, so hopefully Austin's return can make things flow a little easier in that regard. Austin hasn't had an extremely productive season for Pittsburgh due to multiple injuries, but he will have a chance to put numbers up as DK Metcalf is still suspended.

Steelers' Run Game Should Benefit From Getting Fully Healthy

Pittsburgh will also be getting back starting left guard Isaac Seumalo. This gives the offensive line a boost as he is a key in the running game, but this also allows Spencer Anderson to focus solely on being the extra offensive lineman that comes in in running situations. Anderson has been a great player for Pittsburgh as the sixth offensive lineman, but when he has to start at left guard in place of Seumalo, it does complicate things.

Hopefully this allows the run game to flow smoother, which should be beneficial for the offense as a whole.
