The Pittsburgh Steelers could be looking to add a wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft. The front office has plenty of versatility as they own a dozen draft picks, and adding plenty of weapons for whoever ends up under center could be a priority. Pittsburgh owns pick 21 and has been rumored to trade both up and down from that spot. No matter what however, it seems clear that the Steelers brass wants to add one or more receivers. General Manager Omar Khan will just need to figure out where he wants to use one of his many picks on one.

A receiver that has been speculated to be a target for the Black and Gold is Texas A&M's KC Concepcion. Concepcion, a transfer from North Carolina State, is considered one of the best receivers in the draft class. Pittsburgh will more than likely be keeping an eye on him, and he offers a unique skill set that would translate well to its offense. Concepcion led the SEC in touchdown receptions in 2025 and will look to bring his talents to a team that could benefit from an end zone threat like him.
On a recent episode of the Steelers Squad Show, Steelers beat writer Christopher Carter gave insight into Conception's reputation around college football. He gave Steelers fans an encouraging sign if he were to be drafted by the team.
"One thing I heard was that if you talk to pretty much every SEC corner, the guy that they say they had the hardest time facing all season was KC Concepcion, because he was so good at setting up routes at every level of the field, short, intermediate, and deep," Carter explained. You may think, 'Oh, I've got him. I figured out his hook here.' Nope. He was setting you up for a stop-and-go. He was on a corner route. Nope. He just throws you off with these extra couple of steps. He is very crafty.
The Steelers could use a solid route runner like Concepcion. Currently, their top two receivers are known for their size, and Concepcion is a route runner who is capable of keeping defenses on their toes. Such high praise from some of the nation's best defensive backs is a huge compliment for the young pass-catcher. The front office in Pittsburgh should definitely look into Concepcion, as he fits the mold for what the Steelers need out of a third receiver.

The Black and Gold need someone to fill their slot position. Concepcion often played in that spot, but could also play on the outside. That versatility would be yet another intriguing factor for the Steelers brass. According to NFL Draft insider Lance Zierlein, Concepcion is a true separator. This is something that the Steelers' offense lacked in 2025.
"Concepcion offers immediate burst and separation into space. Heβs elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage," Zierlein wrote.
This ability would be huge for a Steelers receiver as the AFC North plays tough, physical football. A weapon of Concepcion's caliber would be worthy of Pittsburgh's first-round pick. He could be the team's receiver of the future.
Steelers Need To Find A Slot Receiver In The Draft
The Black and Gold lost their main slot guy from 2025, Calvin Austin III. The Steelers currently have players who don't have a ton of experience, like Roman Wilson, who is an option for the position. The front office might have some more faith in him this year, but some additional help at that spot would help the team greatly.

The Steelers have plenty of options with a draft class that is considered to be rich in quality receiving prospects. Pittsburgh has a plethora of draft capital to use on multiple receivers if they so choose, and Concepcion could be a perfect fit for the team's needs in 2026.
