The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a comeback win in overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, as they came back from being down 16-3 to win 26-19. The game started off very rough, as the offense could not get anything moving with questionable decisions and poor execution. That side of the ball made some key adjustments in the fourth quarter, which led to the victory. It's safe to say that Pittsburgh won't try to force those empty sets as much as it tried to early on in the contest.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers prepares to throw a pass against the Buccaneers during a regular season game in October 2026.
The 23-3 run in the fourth quarter and overtime means way more to the Steelers than just leaving Tampa Bay with a victory. In his postgame press conference, quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke about what this victory truly means to Pittsburgh.
"These are the most important moments for us as a team to grow because this is a trajectory-altering win today," Rodgers said. "You go to 3-3, and you got the Paris trip, that's just not what you want to do, obviously. Cleveland won today, so the three of us (with the Ravens) are 4-2."
The AFC North looks to be stacked through six weeks. Every team in the division has two losses, with the Cincinnati Bengals having a bye week and being 0.5 games back. Pittsburgh is still in the mix while being tied for a lead; whereas a loss to the Buccaneers with an undrafted rookie quarterback would have set the team back hard. As is typical with the Steelers, they just won't go away, and that mentality will be needed for the whole season.
The Steelers made too many mistakes offensively, which almost made this "trajectory-altering win" not happen. Running back Jaylen Warren only had seven touches in the first three quarters, which is completely unacceptable. There were some other little issues that popped up here and there. While they weren't game-changing on their own, these problems like the missed screen in the first quarter and Germie Bernard giving up a first down were adding up.

Now, the Steelers can laugh about those little issues while working to make sure they don't happen again. Despite having to fly to France for the next contest, the expectation is that Pittsburgh will play much cleaner on offense throughout the entire game. Warren will hopefully get more usage while Bernard continues to be a constant threat all over the field like he was in Week 6. Only time will tell, though.
Steelers Do Not Seem Too Confident Going Into The Paris Game
The way Rodgers spoke about how this win was needed prior to going overseas did not invoke a ton of confidence. Pittsburgh having to go to a different country for a game is rough, especially one in Europe, where the time zones get more messed up. Rodgers and the Steelers had to do this in 2025, and they came out with a win, but this is very different from playing in Ireland.
It has been reported that the New Orleans Saints will leave Sunday night to go to Paris, which will give them plenty of time to acclimate themselves to the time zone change while still being able to prepare to face the Steelers. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is not expected to leave at that same time, and based on its previous two international trips, the team will likely leave on Thursday, giving it less time to recover from jet lag.
Owner Art Rooney II has been very stubborn with this approach, with many believing that he does this to save money on hotel rooms. It worked last time, but that was because they were able to get the Minnesota Vikings to leave at the same time, so there would be no rest advantage. With the Saints being the designated home team for this game, however, they can leave whenever they want.
