It's always a good day for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they get to host the Cleveland Browns for a game. That was the case once again, as they managed to enter the bye week with a dominating 27-6 victory and sole possession of first place in the AFC North. Like most years, this was the single-best performance Pittsburgh had in the season so far, and the hope is that it can keep this momentum and turn it into another key divisional victory when it plays again in Week 10.

This dominating win meant so much more with all of the trash talk from Jared Verse during the week. He tried so many ways to intimidate the Steelers, but all he did was add fuel to the fire. He didn't make an impact at all during the contest, as the only notable thing he did all game long was get body-slammed by Mason McCormick in a clip that has since gone viral.
People forget that Mason McCormick was a wrestler in college. It shows here with how he embarrassed Jared Verse on this viral play against the Brownshttps://t.co/AqWBNdnaDW

Even the Browns seem to be sick of Verse's shenanigans. During a postgame interview, cornerback Tyson Campbell made a series of comments that appear to be directed right at the edge rusher.
"At the end of the day, we all got to put our pads on and play the game," Campbell said. "No matter what anybody says during the week, you got to man up and do the walking, not the talking on Sunday."
Verse definitely did not do the walking on Sunday, except for when he tried to walk through Cameron Heyward's warmup routine before the game. As mentioned before, all that did was add fuel to Pittsburgh's fire as the team shut him down. The edge rusher only recorded one tackle and one quarterback hit all game long as his unit gave up 200 rushing yards in the contest and got thoroughly beat.
Not only was Verse held without a sack in this contest, but he has not recorded any sacks in the entire 2026 season. He has just four tackles for loss and six quarterback hits all season long. He hasn't recorded a solo tackle or a tackle for loss since Week 6, as teams have been able to completely take him out of the equation. Even after getting humiliated by a division rival, he still wouldn't keep quiet.

Campbell and the Browns are aware of how bad of a look this is on them. Verse keeps talking trash and refusing to take accountability for his actions despite the fact that he has the same number of sacks in 2026 as anyone reading this article. He has been a completely non-factor all year long, and if the former Defensive Rookie of the Year doesn't learn, this won't be the last time that he goes viral for being humiliated.
Steelers Are Watching Verse Try To Fill His Predecessor's Shoes
Obviously, Verse is not nearly as good as Myles Garrett ever was, but the new Cleveland edge rusher is trying to trash talk the way he did. The difference is that Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year twice and actually had some great performances against the Steelers.
As hated as he was all throughout Pittsburgh, Garrett actually had the ability to back up everything he said with what he did on the field. Not every game was good, but in the tight games where the Browns needed him to step up to secure the win, he delivered more times than not. Verse plays nothing like him, but he talks as if he does.
What do you think about Campbell indirectly calling out Verse's trash-talking all week long after the embarrassing loss? Let us know on X at @Steelers_ChrisB.
