The Pittsburgh Steelers are ready for the upcoming draft having three picks in the top 50 of the 2023 NFL Draft. A lot of talks have been about the Steelers moving up in the draft, more recently, this has been to number nine in a trade with the Chicago Bears. A scenario that hasn't been discussed much, what happens if the Steelers trade down?

The Steelers drafting at pick 17 are in a prime position to get a cornerstone piece of the organization. Whether that is offensive tackle or cornerback, the Steelers will get a franchise piece with options at both positions being available. The real question is, what do the Steelers do with pick 32?

What seems to be a gift from the Bears now, the Steelers have free reign with this pick to do what they like and negotiate with multiple teams. After night one, all 32 teams will reevaluate their boards and see what they are willing to give up, to get the player that fell out of the first round. Which of these teams might be willing to trade up with the Steelers?

New York Jets:

The Jets Receive: Pick 32

Pittsburgh Receive: Picks 42 and 112

The New York Jets are in a position to move up in the draft because of the recent trade of Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns. This gives them back-to-back picks with the 42nd and the 43rd. This gives the Jets a unique ability to give up one of these picks to move up to get a player that they want. A position of need for the Jets is IOL and safety. If a player like Brian Branch or O'Cyrus Torrence is still available, the Jets are in a position to move up while giving up a fourth round pick for the Steelers to fill in a key depth spot.

Las Vegas Raiders:

The Raiders Receive: Pick 32

Pittsburgh Receives: Picks 38, 141, 204

The Las Vegas Raiders have so many picks this year, 11 picks after the 32nd pick. Picks came in from trades with five different teams, this gives the Raiders an abundance of picks that could be used to go get a player that they want. The Raiders are in need of an EDGE rusher despite having big names like Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones, the Raiders only had a mere 27 sacks on the season. If one of the prolific EDGE rushers falls out of the first round like Lukas Van Ness, the Raiders could be primed to make a jump and give the Steelers some prime picks for depth this year.

Indianapolis Colts:

The Colts Recieve: Pick 32

Pittsburgh Receives: Picks 35 and 106

The Colts are in a major rebuild and also have a top four pick this draft with four top quarterback prospects available. What better to pair your new franchise QB with a brand new WR? If Jordan Addison or Zay Flowers is still available, the Steelers could use this to trade only three picks back and pick up another fourth-round pick to get a young EDGE rusher or a young safety to learn the game from some of the greatest to play.

What do you think the Steelers will do with the 32nd overall pick? Do you want to trade up or down? Let me know in the comments below.
