The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the midst of their worst stretch of the 2024 season. At one point, the team looked like it was poised to be strong Super Bowl contenders, but that is clearly not the case as the group is struggling to stay afloat as the regular season comes to a close. The three-game losing streak has the fan base extremely frustrated, and it is crucial that the team gets back on track in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The game is essentially meaningless for Pittsburgh, but the team needs to get some confidence back before the postseason begins.

The Steelers have put up three straight pitiful performances against the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, and Kansas City Chiefs. These games were all easily losable, but Pittsburgh failed to make any of the three games competitive. This is the level of competition that will be seen in the playoffs, so the losing streak was kind of just a strong reality check for the fan base to realize just how far away this organization truly is from being great in today's NFL. Former NFL linebacker and Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist, Luke Kuechly joined Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show on Monday, and he shared that he still has faith in Pittsburgh.
"It's not like they have an easy Week 18 game," Kuechly stated. "I think you feel a lot better about yourself going into the playoffs after four wins in a row, rather than three or four losses in a row. To me, they're a little bit like the Chiefs in that they are veteran guys. Russ [Wilson] has been to the Super Bowl; he's won a Super Bowl. [Mike] Tomlin's won a Super Bowl; he's won a million games. Then on the defensive side of the ball, Cam Heyward and TJ Watt. They don't seem like a team that's gonna get down in the dumps that they've lost three games. I think from coaches down to players on both sides of the ball, I think they'll be alright."
Pittsburgh's Week 18 game is not easy as the Bengals are surging at the right time and have a chance to clinch a spot. The Steelers' defense has been a concerning issue over recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see how the unit holds up against what could potentially be the best passing offense in the NFL.

Kuechly made interesting points about how the Steelers' roster and coaching staff is put together. There is a ton of experience at key positions. Russell Wilson was competitive throughout his entire tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, going to two Super Bowls and winning one. Head Coach Mike Tomlin has been through the trials and tribulations of being a head coach in the league for 18 seasons, yet has never had a losing season.
Pittsburgh is made up of players and coaches that can weather this storm. They still have a long shot to win the division, but it is more likely than not that it will be a Wild Card team. The Steelers will be looking for their first postseason win since the 2016 season, and hopefully they can turn this season around and get it.

Steelers Bounced Back Strong From Strange Losing Streak In 2023
Pittsburgh has a history of bouncing back from losing streaks in a strong manner. During the 2023 season, Pittsburgh suffered three embarrassing losses in a row to the Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, and the Indianapolis Colts. Strangely enough, the Steelers had a chance to get back on the right track while playing the Bengals.
Cincinnati never had a chance. Pittsburgh was up 24-0 at halftime and George Pickens had the best game of his career by catching two touchdowns and recording 195 yards. Hopefully the Steelers can replicate this to end the 2024 season and carry some confidence into the playoffs.
