The Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation has been a hot topic for quite some time now. As the team approaches the 2025 season, the front office faces a major decision: which of its two quarterbacks, Russell Wilson or Justin Fields, will remain on the roster? Both quarterbacks had solid performances in 2024, but their contract situations complicate matters. With both Wilson and Fields soon to be free agents, the Steelers will need to weigh their options carefully as the signal-callers' price tags rise, making this an increasingly difficult decision.

The Steelers are expected to bring back one, but not both, quarterbacks. Wilson's veteran experience and Fields' potential for growth create a challenging dilemma for Pittsburgh's management.

Each quarterback has strengths that could fit the team’s offensive style, but the financial constraints and roster construction needs will ultimately play a significant role. Fans and analysts alike are divided on which quarterback would be the best fit for the team moving forward, and the uncertainty only adds to the drama surrounding the Steelers' quarterback battle.

Media personality Amanda Casey Vance recently sat down for an interview on her Instagram (@amandacaseyvance) with Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw to discuss the quarterback situation. Vance posed the critical question: which quarterback would Bradshaw choose to lead the team?

"Neither," Bradshaw said to Vance as he laughed. "I don’t like either one of those quarterbacks. I am not a Russell Wilson fan. When Sean Payton got rid of Russell Wilson in Denver that told me all I needed to know about him."

Bradshaw revealed that his amount of trust in Denver Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton was a key factor in his skepticism about Wilson. After Bradshaw saw that Payton asked his organization to pay millions to get Wilson off his team. That changed his mind big time.

After seeing Wilson in action with the Steelers in 2024, Bradshaw's stance remained unchanged—he still doesn’t want him back. While he was slightly more complimentary of Fields, Bradshaw still expressed doubts about the quarterback’s ability to lead the team with confidence.

"Justin Fields is talented but he just hasn’t adapted well to the NFL game," Bradshaw said to Vance. "He does some absolutely great things but he’s not as good as Jayden Daniels or Williams in Chicago."

Bradshaw's response reflected his frustration with the options, as he expressed uncertainty about both quarterbacks, revealing that neither Wilson nor Fields had fully earned his confidence. His candid comments further fuel the ongoing debate among fans about which direction the Steelers should take at the position. With the cost to keep Wilson or Fields going up. Many wonder if Wilson was a one and done in Pittsburgh.

Steelers Have A Massive Decision To Make At Quarterback During The 2025 Offseason

It's always intriguing to hear what Bradshaw has to say. Much like fellow Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger, Bradshaw brought four Super Bowls to Pittsburgh, marking the glory days of the franchise. Fans have watched with growing frustration as their once-dominant team has become just another average NFL squad year after year, longing for the days of championship contention.

This is why the quarterback decision is so critical. It has the potential to reshape the Steelers' championship aspirations for years to come. If they can make the right choice quickly, there’s hope for a postseason run with stars like Cameron Heyward and TJ Watt still in their prime. But time is running out, and the Steelers must urgently decide on their future under center to make the most of their current roster's window.

With key players like Heyward and Watt approaching the tail end of their primes, Pittsburgh can't afford to waste another season in uncertainty. The decisions made now will have a lasting impact on the franchise's trajectory, and with the right quarterback, the Steelers could still make a strong playoff push. The pressure is on for the team to act swiftly and decisively. The popular choice among the options is certainly Fields at this point.
