As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue their preparation towards the start of training camp, the team faces major depth issues in the quarterback room. Consisting of Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and rookie Will Howard, the Steelers have made it evident that the team is searching the market for veteran depth. One name who continues to emerge as a top target for Pittsburgh is four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, who spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets, is a player that is far past his prime, but could still add some major firepower to a lackluster Steelers offense.

Rodgers, who is entering what is more than likely his final season in the NFL, may prove to be a major addition to the Steelers' quarterback room. While speculation continues to rise around where the future Hall of Fame quarterback will sign, Rodgers has reportedly kept all options open, including retirement. With Rudolph currently projected to be the team's starting quarterback in Week 1 as of right now, many around the league have expressed their concerns with the Steelers' offense.

As the Steelers continue to wait for a decision from the former Jet, NFL analyst Dan Graziano weighed in on the situation and gave a bold response when asked about the odds of Rodgers playing in Pittsburgh in 2025.

"52 percent, which is pretty good considering he's not even on the team at the moment," Graziano stated. "They have a mandatory minicamp coming up in the second week of June, so it's a date worth watching. If he's not there by the start of that minicamp, it's hard to see him showing up in late July and jumping right in."

Graziano, who is considered to be a trustworthy source around the league, remains confident in Rodgers playing for the Steelers next season. Rodgers' impact on the Steelers' quarterback room could loom past this upcoming season as well, as Howard would prove to be a major beneficiary of the four-time MVP's presence.

Howard, a five-year college veteran who spent time at both Kansas State and Ohio State, has reportedly looked very comfortable early on in the offseason. With Rodgers' decision still up in the air and Rudolph currently projected as the team's starter, Howard is expected to emerge as a legitimate starting option for Pittsburgh at some point down the line.

Steelers' Offensive Issues Remain A Major Problem

As the Steelers continue to address depth issues in the quarterback room, the team finds themselves with similar problems in the wide receiver room as well. After trading star wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a third-round pick, the Steelers now have no real reliable wide receiver depth outside of DK Metcalf. Metcalf, who was acquired by Pittsburgh after a trade with the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the offseason, is expected to play a major role on the Steelers' offense. Signing Rodgers would have an instant impact on Metcalf's game as well, as Rodgers would likely do an excellent job of unleashing the former Seahawk's full potential.

With the rest of the Steelers' wide receiver room most notably consisting of Calvin Austin lll, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson, Pittsburgh is expected to pursue veteran depth in hopes of adding a true wide receiver two (WR2) to the roster before September. The team may elect to use the talent already on the roster as well, as Austin lll and Wilson continue to shine and flash elite potential throughout the offseason.

With the Steelers facing questions at multiple positions on offense, the team will continue to monitor the free agent market in hopes of adding veteran depth at both quarterback and wide receiver. Graziano's latest report regarding Rodgers is encouraging, as the former Super Bowl champion is expected to make a decision sooner rather than later.
