"Just having that confidence that any time I step on a field, no one can guard me," Austin said about his mindset. "Towards the end of the season, I really felt like that became my primary mission to show that when I step on the field in man coverage, I feel disrespected getting in man. I just have to show that."

In the 2024 season, Austin showed his ability to create separation and make big-time plays. He seriously impressed the Steelers' coaching staff, and his growth was a major reason Pittsburgh felt comfortable trading away Pickens.

"I’m not really sure what to expect," Austin said. "I just expect to go forward and be the best player I can be for the team."

Austin caught 36 passes for 548 receiving yards and added four receiving touchdowns in the 2024 season. He also made a significant impact in the return game, scoring a 73-yard punt return touchdown. His speed is incredible, and his route running is precise. Since Wide Receivers Coach Zach Azzanni arrived, Austin has made noticeable improvements in his game.
