The Pittsburgh Steelers made the decision to stack all their chips and go all in on Aaron Rodgers for the 2025 season. Now 41 years old, Rodgers arrives in Pittsburgh with one of the most decorated resumes in NFL history. Pundits aren’t exactly sure what to expect, but many believe the Steelers could be contenders if he can deliver an above-average offensive season.

Early in camp, reports surfaced that the offense was struggling to find its rhythm. Rodgers was still working to develop timing and chemistry with his new teammates. That is to be expected with so many new faces at key positions. Rodgers spoke to the media on Tuesday before training camp. He said he feels more comfortable with the playbook and that the offense is starting to click.

His growing confidence is exactly what Steelers fans wanted to hear. With a defense projected to be one of the NFL’s most dominant, Pittsburgh’s hopes for a deep playoff run may rest on Rodgers’ ability to steady the offense. If he can manage the game, take advantage of his weapons, and avoid costly mistakes, the Steelers could be dangerous when it matters most.

"I think I am playing a little bit better," Rodgers told the media before training camp practice on Tuesday. "You know I feel comfortable in the offense and DK [Metcalf] and I have been getting on the same page a little more frequently. That helps."

If Rodgers’ words are any indication, the Steelers’ offense may be turning the corner at just the right time. Building chemistry with star wideout DK Metcalf could prove to be one of the biggest factors in Pittsburgh’s 2025 campaign. The connection between the two will not only open up explosive plays downfield, but also create opportunities for other weapons in the passing game. With the Steelers' tight end room loaded with talented playmakers such as Pat Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington. This offense can really open up if Metcalf can be a 1,250 yard receiver.

Rodgers’ comfort level within the offense should also help the running game thrive, as defenses will have to respect the passing threat more consistently. That balance is exactly what Head Coach Mike Tomlin and Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith have been aiming for since the start of the offseason.

Steelers Have A Legit Shot At Winning Super Bowl In 2025 With Aaron Rodgers

For now, Steelers fans can take Rodgers’ confidence as a promising sign. If the veteran quarterback’s timing and chemistry continue to improve, Pittsburgh’s offense could be ready to complement its dominant defense and push for a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl run. The Steelers don't have the greatest chances to win the Super Bowl in the 2025 season. However, there are few experts brave enough to truly count out a team with Rodgers and Tomlin.

Even if, Rodgers is now 41 years old and won just five games with the New York Jets in the 2024 season. If the Steelers want to end their playoff drought, it will be critical that Rodgers stays healthy and can get this offense at the very least slightly better than average. The defense should be able to do the remainder of the work. The pressure is on Tomlin and Rodgers to put together a season of magic in 2025. All eyes now turn to Tomlin and the Steelers.
