The Pittsburgh Steelers have turned in all of their chips, essentially gambling everything on the 2025 season. Head Coach Mike Tomlin wanted to go all in on Aaron Rodgers as an attempt to end his playoff win drought. The Steelers and Tomlin have not won a playoff game since the 2016 season, a drought that has weighed heavily on the franchise and its fanbase. Tomlin totes those bags and he knows it. He's ready to get back to winning meaningful games in Pittsburgh.

Now with Rodgers in town, albeit at 41 years old, there is serious hope he can guide the Steelers on a deep postseason run. While Rodgers brings instant credibility, experience, and Hall of Fame talent, the move has also sparked debate about whether Pittsburgh placed too much of its future on the shoulders of a quarterback nearing the end of his career.
Not everyone is convinced that General Manager Omar Khan made the right moves this offseason. Khan has been widely praised for his aggressive roster building, landing Rodgers and adding key pieces in free agency and the draft. Many around the league have called it one of the most ambitious offseasons in recent Steelers history. However, not all voices are in agreement that it was a good offseason.
Former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, never shy about expressing his opinions, took to social media on Monday to air his thoughts on the 2025 roster.
Steelers can not build in the draft

Brown questioned some of Khan’s decisions and whether this version of the Steelers is truly built to contend with the NFL’s elite teams come January. The Steelers made several major trades, acquiring players such as DK Metcalf, Jonnu Smith, and Jalen Ramsey, while parting ways with stars like Minkah Fitzpatrick and George Pickens. They also brought in Rodgers and made other significant moves throughout the roster, further signaling their all-in approach for 2025.

Brown’s post didn’t stop at critiquing the roster. In typical Brown fashion, he made headlines by sending a strange and cryptic message directed at the late Dan Rooney, the legendary Steelers owner, as well as the Rooney family and the entire organization. His comments were confusing and raised eyebrows across Steeler Nation, with many fans left wondering exactly what he meant.
While it’s not unusual for Brown to stir controversy, his decision to involve the Rooney family struck a nerve, especially given their status and legacy in Pittsburgh. The timing of his remarks, just as the Steelers are preparing for a make-or-break season with Rodgers, only added to the drama surrounding the team.
Steelers' Omar Khan Willing To Risk It All For A Shot At The Lombardi Trophy
Khan is an aggressive general manager, and Steelers fans are starting to really come to love this aspect of him. He has a strong understanding of what it takes to become a star in Pittsburgh, and while he appreciates the hype and support from the fan base, he knows none of it truly matters unless it ends with a Super Bowl trophy in the Steel City.

Many fans wanted big changes, and while they may not have come in the exact fashion they were hoping for, the organization certainly delivered several significant moves. Pundits across the league believe this roster has the potential to go all the way in 2025, but it will take a lot of things breaking in Pittsburgh’s favor for that to become a reality.
