Pittsburgh Steelers superstar kicker, Chris Boswell is a "serial killer" according to Head Coach Mike Tomlin. Steelers fans have watched Boswell continue to bail the team out for his entire career in Pittsburgh, and Sunday was no different. Tomlin explained that Boswell has a low pulse rate and lives for moments like this, never flinching under pressure. He had zero doubt in his kicker, even with such a difficult, high-pressure kick on the line.

With the outcome of the contest in his hands against the New York Jets, Boswell stepped up and nailed a 60-yard field goal in clutch time, lifting the Steelers to a thrilling 34-32 victory. It was yet another reminder of why Boswell has earned the trust of both his teammates and Steeler Nation, proving once again that when the pressure is at its peak, he delivers.
After the game, Steelers captain Cam Heyward shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes moment on his podcast Not Just Football. While half of the fans at MetLife Stadium were erupting in celebration after Boswell’s monster kick, Heyward admitted he didn’t even see it go through the uprights. Instead, he knew it was good because he immediately heard Boswell and long snapper Christian Kuntz talking trash to the Jets. The duo wasted no time letting the New York players know just how clutch the kick was, adding a funny twist to an already unforgettable moment.
"It was still up in there a little bit and then I hear people saying field goal," Heyward said while speaking to co-host Hayden Walsh on his podcast. "I was like ok, we are gonna try it. I play tight end, that is the worst position to play on field goal."
The Steelers' fan base has grown to love Boswell for his consistency and reliability. With the offense struggling for several seasons, Boswell has often been the one to save Pittsburgh, winning countless games with his leg and clutch field goals.

Even in games where the offense managed to put points on the board, the Steelers still needed Boswell to step up and nail a high-pressure kick to secure the victory.
"There’s still pushing after the play. I didn’t even get to see the ball go through the uprights, but all I heard was this big gasp from the crowd," Heyward said. "The crowd was just stunned that Bos just hit this 60-yard kick and then you hear Bos just start talking sh** and it was awesome. Bos, Kuntz, they all talk sh**."
Boswell’s heroics have become almost routine in Pittsburgh, but moments like this show just how much confidence the Steelers have in their veteran kicker.
Steelers Have A Serial Killer As Their Kicker
For a team that has leaned heavily on its defense and special teams in recent years, Boswell remains one of their most reliable weapons. The fact that he and Kuntz celebrated by jawing at the Jets only makes the story more memorable, giving Steelers fans yet another reason to love their "serial killer" kicker.

Typically, being called a serial killer isn’t seen as a compliment, but in classic Tomlin fashion, he turned something unusual and taboo into a badge of honor when describing his kicker. It was a great Week 1 moment, but many Steelers fans would prefer not to see Boswell constantly forced into situations where he has to deliver under immense pressure.
