Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense put on an extremely promising showing in Week 1's matchup against the New York Jets. Rodgers threw for a total of 244 yards and four touchdowns against his former team as the veteran quarterback sent a message to the entire league with his MVP caliber performance on Sunday. The Steelers' running back room had some key moments thanks to Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell, as both young running backs will look to play at an even higher level against the Seattle Seahawks.

Warren and Gainwell both made a positive impact in the Week 1 win over the Jets, but still left much to be desired. Warren was credited with 37 yards on 11 carries, with Gainwell posting 19 yards on seven carries. Gainwell recently took a moment to share his thoughts on the Steelers' ground game in Week 1, as the talented running back claims both himself and Warren could find themselves playing much better this weekend.

Gainwell claims Steelers fans can expect a ton of big runs against Seattle, while also stating the running back room could "explode" this weekend.
"Yeah, it was a couple of things we were trying to see last weekend." Gainwell stated. "Pretty sure this week y'all gonna see a lot of big runs."
Gainwell continued to go more in depth about himself and Warren, where the promising running back said the young duo will give it their all this Sunday.
"We're gonna try to do everything that we can. Me and Jaylen Warren, harp on every detail that we have, and we will try to make this thing explode this weekend," said Gainwell.
Gainwell is a 26 year old running back that spent the first four years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Gainwell was solid in a limited role last season while playing behind Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia, as the former Eagle could quickly find himself becoming a major weapon on the Steelers' offense. Warren is expected to remain as the starting running back throughout the 2025 season, but Gainwell may continue to get more opportunities should the rising star play well.
Warren will have the biggest workload of his career in 2025. The young running back spent the first three years of his career playing behind Najee Harris, and could quickly emerge as a top running back in all of football with a workload of that size. Warren will look to carry Week 1's momentum into Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks as the Steelers' backfield will look to send a statement to the entire NFL.
Steelers' Running Back Room Must Play Vital Role In Week 2
Warren and Gainwell could be key components to a victory against the Seahawks on Sunday. Seattle will have to limit Pittsburgh's run game to the best of their ability, as both Warren and Gainwell are explosive playmakers that could turn it on at any second. Gainwell is expected to continue playing behind Warren, but can quickly emerge as a major weapon against the Seahawks.
The Steelers have rookie running back Kaleb Johnson who can make an impact this weekend as well. The rookie seemed to be rather uncomfortable throughout the preseason and Week 1, as the rising star may require additional time to adjust to the professional level. Johnson was a third-round pick out of Iowa this year and could have a very bright future ahead of him.

Gainwell's comments are promising for Steelers fans to hear. The Steelers will host the Seattle Seahawks for the first home game of the year this Sunday as the running back room will look to make a statement early on.
