The Pittsburgh Steelers' offense was gift-wrapped five turnovers in the Week 3 win over the New England Patriots. The only issue is that it failed to do much of anything with those takeaways the defense made happen. The Steelers' offense, led by Aaron Rodgers, definitely looked like it could use some help in the wide receiver room. The Steelers have DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin III as the two trusted playmakers in that group. They need some help in the minds of many.

After the Tennessee Titans’ 41-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, football pundit Mike Herndon highlighted that the team should soon be shopping some playmakers. One that would catch the eye of Steelers General Manager Omar Khan’s is certainly Calvin Ridley. The Titans have a new regime and a young quarterback in Cam Ward. Ridley is now 30 years old, so trading him away would make sense.
For Khan, the decision to target Ridley could prove to be the type of bold move that shifts the course of the season. The Steelers are built to contend right now, boasting a defense capable of creating turnovers and, at some point, dominating opponents. The missing piece remains offensive consistency, particularly through the air.

as hard as possible over the next month.
Ridley’s presence would open up the playbook for Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith, giving Rodgers a trusted veteran with big-play potential. If the Titans are indeed ready to part ways after their disappointing start, Khan should be aggressive in making the call to bring Ridley to Pittsburgh.
Ridley has shown flashes of being an elite playmaker in the NFL. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in three of his seven seasons, proving he can produce at a high level.
However, Ridley hasn’t quite lived up to the hype and expectations since signing with the Titans after a massive 2023 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Still, when healthy, he has been a reliable weapon, and pairing him with Metcalf and Austin would instantly transform the Steelers’ offense into a far more dangerous unit.

Adding Ridley to this group would completely change the way defenses have to prepare for the Steelers. With Metcalf stretching the field and Austin creating chaos in the slot, Ridley would become the weapon that makes every other player on the offense more dangerous. Defenses could no longer focus solely on Metcalf, and that would finally give Rodgers the room to operate and turn turnovers into points.
Steelers' Offense Could Certainly Use 1 More Weapon
It’s safe to say that through the first three games, the Steelers' offense at least looks better, though it hasn’t been the high-powered unit many fans would love to see. However, it has done a solid job of moving the chains, and there have been a few plays where execution could have made a huge difference.

Many believe adding a receiver like Ridley could change the offense dramatically. That may be true, or it may not, but Khan is always looking for ways to improve his team. It’s safe to assume he will be on the phone with the Titans if he thinks Ridley is available. The Steelers will be heading to Dublin, Ireland, to face off against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.
