The Pittsburgh Steelers sit at 4-1 on the 2025 season and are in prime position to take a stranglehold on the AFC North, though not all Steelers fans are fully confident that will transpire. Mainly because of what happened during the end of the 2024 season, where offensive inconsistency and key injuries left fans frustrated and unsure of the team’s trajectory. But things appear to be different this year with Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf in the Steel City, injecting new life into a roster that has struggled to find a reliable rhythm at quarterback and receiver in recent years. The offense looks sharper, the play-calling more aggressive, and the overall energy in the locker room is noticeably higher.

During the Steelers’ Week 6 victory over the Cleveland Browns, Rodgers had another productive day, connecting on multiple key passes and keeping the offense moving efficiently. His chemistry with Metcalf was evident, as the duo combined for several explosive plays that helped the Steelers maintain control of the game. The offensive line, boosted by the continued development of young talent, gave Rodgers the protection he needed to showcase his full skill set. For fans who remember the shaky performances of the previous season, it was a reassuring sight, and it highlighted how the offseason additions have made a tangible difference in Pittsburgh’s offensive identity.
In a new episode of Footbahlin, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger revealed one mistake he was shocked to see Rodgers make during the Browns game. Roethlisberger, who is known for his meticulous attention to detail and understanding of quarterback play, called out a single missed throw by Rodgers.
"The only thing I saw from Aaron really that would, not even cause for concern, but is just unusual for Aaron, for who he is, there was a deep ball to DK Metcalf on the left side," Roethlisberger explained. "DK was behind the defender and Aaron threw it. It wasn't a crazy miss, but he underthrew a guy."
While it didn’t result in a turnover or impact the final outcome, Roethlisberger’s insight underscores that even elite quarterbacks can have teachable moments.

It also gives Steelers fans hope that Rodgers’ veteran presence, combined with his willingness to learn and adapt, can carry the team deeper into the postseason than many initially expected.
"I don't know the last time I saw Aaron underthrow somebody," Roethlisberger said. "I mean he's got such a big strong arm. Am I concerned? No, but I was just like ,oh that's interesting that he missed those layups. That guy doesn't miss layups. It just doesn't happen. The other thing is that his escapability is just not what it used to be. But again, who is at 41 years old?"
Roethlisberger made it very clear he wasn’t taking any shots at Rodgers or even criticizing him. In fact, his comments highlight just how great the four-time league MVP has been over the course of two decades. One underthrow had a future Hall of Famer in Roethlisberger stunned, and that’s telling of Rodgers’ greatness.
Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Looking To Continue Momentum In Week 7
Now Rodgers will head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals on a short week. This AFC North battle gives him a chance to build on his momentum and add another win in 2025.

It will be tough for a 41-year-old quarterback on the road with limited rest. The Steelers defense will look to pressure the Bengals’ 40-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco. Many are calling this matchup the Icy Hot Bowl.
