The Pittsburgh Steelers have a handful of rivals around the NFL, but none is more intense than the rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens. The matchups have died down a bit since the days of players like Ben Roethlisberger, Ray Lewis, and James Harrison, but it is still one of the best rivalry matchups in the NFL. More often than not, the two sides play close games, which was not the case in the last two matchups that Pittsburgh lost in embarrassing fashion. The two teams clash for the first time during the 2025 season on Sunday, and the game is critical when it comes to playoff chances.

Both teams are 6-6 going into this matchup in Week 14 with the Ravens leading the way in the AFC North, as they hold the tie-breaker over the Steelers. The two remaining matchups between the teams will be the determining factor in the AFC North, as neither team has a good chance of sneaking into one of the Wild Card spots. One player Pittsburgh needs to have a good game on Sunday, if he is available, is inside linebacker Patrick Queen. He used to be a Raven, which is something former outside linebacker Terrell Suggs is baffled by. He mentioned this recently on the Glory Daze Podcast.
"You know, Patrick Queen, the traitor," Suggs said. "You know what I'm saying? He's a pretty good football player, but you know, he's a traitor. So who knows. You're gonna go there? Oh my god. I couldn't believe it. I was like 'Nah, that's fake.'"
Queen signed with the Steelers during free agency in the 2024 offseason. It was a three-year deal worth $41 million with the organization, which was the most lucrative contract Pittsburgh has ever given out in free agency. At the time, the signing was seen as a great deal for Pittsburgh, but things have not always worked out for Queen with the Steelers. He has left the fans wanting more with his play, although he has been pretty good over his first two years.

Queen has been an above average linebacker for the Steelers, but he hasn't lived up to the All-Pro status that he obtained during the 2023 season with Baltimore. Pittsburgh is still waiting to see that version of him. Hopefully the franchise can get it against the Ravens on Sunday, although his status for the game is up in the air after suffering a minor injury in Week 13.
Suggs is not the first Raven to express displeasure with Queen's decision to sign in Pittsburgh. Many of the linebacker's former teammates have spoken out as well. Baltimore has no right to be upset as the franchise did not even offer Queen a contract before or during his free agency, which essentially let him know that he was not wanted in Baltimore. He moved on and found a good deal in Pittsburgh, and things have gone well, although many fans would like to see more.
Steelers Have Seen Players Flip Between The Rivalry Before
Queen is not the first player to play for both the Steelers and the Ravens, however it is rare to see a player go directly from one of the two teams to the other with no stops in between. DeShon Elliott plays for Pittsburgh and he used to suit up for Baltimore as he was drafted by the organization, but he made some other stops on his way to Pittsburgh. Mike Wallace is another example of that. He began his career in Pittsburgh and was a great receiver for the organization, but the franchise did a good job drafting to replace him.
