Steelers Insider Advises Fans To Slow Down On Zach Frazier Hype

The Pittsburgh Steelers' plan of building the trenches through the NFL Draft is finally paying off, with the offensive line taking over games. Pittsburgh's run game has been dominant for most of the season, and even reached 200 yards in their most recent win against the Cleveland Browns. Bully ball has returned to the Steelers' offense, and it's generating a ton of buzz in the media.

Center Zach Frazier has been the focus of attention on the offensive line as he begins to generate All-Pro buzz. Frazier has anchored the unit since he was drafted in 2024, and it appears he's taken a step forward in his development in 2026. Pittsburgh struggled to find a stud center after Maurkice Pouncey's retirement, but hit the jackpot when they took Frazier in the second round in 2024.

Now that it appears the Steelers have an elite center again, fans may be jumping the gun on his status. Insider Bob Labriola recently did an Asked and Answered where he answered Steeler Nation's questions, and he said greatest of all-time talk for Frazier is premature. He admits Frazier is a good player, but his lack of Pro Bowls and All-Pro nods keeps him out of the all-time conversation.

"I think Zach Frazier is a very good player, a team leader, right now the alpha among the team's offensive linemen," Labriola wrote. "But Frazier also is in just his third NFL season, and he hasn't even been voted to his first Pro Bowl, let alone All-Pro, which is a far more exclusive club. I still believe it's premature and a little bit unfair to him to start with the 'all-time great' talk. [Mike] Webster wasn't a full-time starter until his fourth season, and Dermontti Dawson was converted to center from guard because the guy they picked in the round after him to play center quickly showed he was not up to the job. Webster and Dawson are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Maurkice Pouncey will be in that conversation once he becomes eligible."

The Steelers have had plenty of all-time great centers. Labriola names Pouncey, Dermontti Dawson, and Mike Webster, all of whom were Pro Bowlers and named All-Pros. While Frazier could certainly find himself in their company one day, it's unfair to expect that level of greatness from him already in just his third season. Until the individual accolades come, the all-time talk should be set aside.

The former West Virginia standout has a great chance to finally be named a Pro Bowler this season, as he has arguably been the best center in the NFL through eight games. Pro Football Focus has Frazier as the highest-graded center in the entire NFL, allowing only seven pressures and no sacks. Even with plenty of football left, Frazier is on an excellent track. Though all eyes are on the center, he's not the only one in the Steelers' front five who could make the Pro Bowl.

Steelers' Mason McCormick Is Also Breaking Out

Even when the offensive line struggled in the first two games of 2026, McCormick remained a steady presence in the middle. Though it took the other four a few games to get things going, McCormick was good from the start. He's been a huge part of the team's success in the run game and is currently one of the more underrated guards in the NFL.

Though he's not on Frazier's level, he could still be a candidate for a Pro Bowl nod. The Pro Bowl has always been fan-voted, and McCormick has become a fan favorite in Pittsburgh. The media loves his aggressiveness and old-school style of play. It would not be shocking to see either McCormick or Frazier notch their first career Pro Bowl or even an All-Pro nod with how their respective seasons are going.
