Along with the rest of the signal-callers around the league, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback ratings were revealed on Friday for Madden 23. The game hasn't exactly been kind to the black and gold this week, as they've unveiled different positions each day. Minkah Fitzpatrick and TJ Watt stood out as two guys that were criminally underrated on the game.
In essence, it's to no one's surprise that the quarterbacks were a bit underrated. That's not to say Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, or Mason Rudolph deserve an 80, but they should be higher than this:
- Trubisky - 69
- Pickett - 68
- Rudolph - 62
- Chris Oladokun - 59

Trubisky, the highest-rated Steelers quarterback, comes in tied-for-37th among NFL QB ratings. Pickett comes in just after him, and there are a few questionable guys ahead of both of them. Despite being the first quarterback selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickett is not the highest-rated rookie QB. That's right, Desmond Ridder tops the group with a 70 overall, and Malik Willis is also ahead of Pickett with a 69. Matt Corral is tied with Pickett at 68 overall, while Sam Howell is just one behind them with a 67.
Willis was picked a whole 66 picks after Pickett, yet is a higher overall. The Steelers willingly passed up on Willis, whom many believed to be their guy, for Pickett. The University of Pittsburgh product was thought to be a 74 overall in the original Madden "leaks." This year, the leaks were false all around. Watt was expected to be apart of the "99 Club," but he somehow ended up with a 96. As for the Steelers' other rookie QB, Oladokun slid in with a 59 overall. That's fair, considering how raw and unproven he is. He remains a likely practice squad candidate heading into training camp.
Trubisky actually stands as the fifth-best QB in the AFC North with Baker Mayfield now on the Carolina Panthers. Before the trade though, the Cleveland Browns had three higher-rated quarterbacks than the North Carolina product, as Jacoby Brissett most notably has a 70 overall. I may be wrong, but a 69 for Trubisky seems a bit low. He really wasn't that bad with the Chicago Bears, especially considering he had to put up with Matt Nagy.

Tom Brady headed the quarterback group with a 97 overall, while Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes rounded out the top-three with overalls of 96 and 95 respectively. Josh Allen (92) and Joe Burrow (90) were the only other quarterbacks to top 90 overall.
If you plan on buying Madden 23 and using the Steelers, good luck. It's going to be awfully hard to play with them, whether it be franchise mode or online.
