The Steelers’ defensive line could greatly benefit from a familiar face: Javon Hargrave. Hargrave, originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, played four seasons with the team before leaving for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. During his time in Philadelphia, Hargrave's career blossomed, and he became a key figure in their defense.
After three successful seasons with the Eagles, Hargrave has moved on to the San Francisco 49ers. However, on Wednesday, it was revealed that the 49ers are planning to release Hargrave with a post-June 1 designation. While the 49ers have expressed interest in bringing him back, this opens up the possibility of a reunion with the Steelers. The timing could be perfect for Pittsburgh, as Hargrave’s return could significantly strengthen their defensive line for the 2025 season.
