The Pittsburgh Steelers made major headlines all offseason in 2025 as they worked to find ways to improve their roster. The team feels confident in what it has built and is excited to kick off the 2025 regular season on the road in Week 1 against the New York Jets. After a period of evaluation and speculation, one of the biggest moves was the decision to go all-in on pursuing 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers’ front office made it clear they view Rodgers as the centerpiece of their offense and a veteran presence capable of guiding this team in what is likely his final NFL season.

Now, Rodgers faces the task of lifting the Steelers’ offense and helping maximize the potential of a roster that blends experienced veterans with young talent. The pressure is high, but the veteran quarterback brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Pittsburgh, which could prove invaluable for a team aiming to make a playoff push. Expectations are clear: Rodgers will need to elevate the play of those around him, and the Steelers are banking on his ability to do just that, especially with a mix of returning offensive weapons and new additions designed to complement his game.

Speaking with Steelers media via 93.7 The Fan on Wednesday, Rodgers shared his candid thoughts about the state of the offense and its playmakers. He emphasized both the talent on the roster and the areas that will require improvement, showing that he is fully aware of the work ahead. Rodgers’ insight offers a glimpse into his mindset heading into the season, signaling that while optimism is high, he recognizes that success will require cohesion, execution, and leadership from every member of the Steelers’ offense.

"We have so many different guys who can do a lot of different things," Rodgers told the Steelers media on Wednesday. "There are little guys who can run around and make plays inside and outside. You got four very capable tight ends and three very capable backs. You got a really, really freaking smart center who just loves to correct me."

There’s been a ton of discussion about the Steelers’ offensive weapons and whether they have enough, specifically at the wide receiver position. There are concerns that after DK Metcalf, there aren’t enough playmakers in that room to help Rodgers or allow this offense to thrive. That’s not how Rodgers sees it, and it’s not how the Steelers view it either.

If the Steelers’ offense can stay healthy, the offensive line should be solid. Rodgers has specifically highlighted second-year center Zach Frazier, joking with him often, but clearly appreciating Frazier’s high football IQ and knowledge of the game. The two have already developed great chemistry, which is an exciting element for the offense heading into 2025.

Rodgers also spoke about the four tight ends he’s confident in. The Steelers arguably have the best tight end room in the league heading into the season, featuring Pat Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith, Darnell Washington, and Connor Heyward

Rodgers made sure to mention all four of them, while also hinting at wide receivers like Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, and Ben Skowronek. While this isn’t the flashiest group of offensive weapons ever assembled, it’s enough to give Rodgers and Pittsburgh what they need to succeed in 2025.
