The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 25-10 loss on Sunday night to the Los Angeles Chargers is one that the fan base is trying to forget. This Steelers team has been wildly inconsistent all across the gridiron for the duration of the 2025 season. Yet, they find themselves 5-4 and still in control of the AFC North; though that could quickly change with the way the Baltimore Ravens have been playing lately. Each week seems to bring a new set of questions about the team’s offensive rhythm and defensive reliability, leaving fans frustrated yet cautiously optimistic that a late-season push could keep Pittsburgh in the playoff hunt.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers throws downfield during Pittsburgh's 25-10 loss vs the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.
When watching Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers try to get going against the Chargers, it became pretty clear that something was off. His timing seemed off on several key throws, and the offensive line struggled to provide consistent protection, forcing Rodgers into hurried decisions. The wide receiver corps also had difficulty creating separation, compounding the problems and leaving the Steelers’ offense stagnant for long stretches. Moments of promise were overshadowed by turnovers and missed opportunities, and fans were left wondering if the team can find cohesion as the season enters its critical final stretch.
Steelers insider Mark Kaboly joined 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday morning to provide more insight into what went wrong. Kaboly highlighted that while Rodgers’ performance raised eyebrows, it’s part of a larger pattern of inconsistency throughout the team. From the very first time Kaboly saw Rodgers out on that field, he knew something was amiss.
"There was something off about him immediately," Kaboly said on 93.7 The Fan Tuesday morning. "When you watched that game, if you saw the first quarter, something's just not right. I don't wanna say engaged. I would say more like he just didn't, it didn't look like something was going on correctly from that first sack to some of the poor throws."
He also noted that the Steelers’ defense showed flashes of strength, but was unable to consistently slow down the Chargers’ high-powered offense.

Kaboly stressed that Pittsburgh still has the talent to remain competitive in the AFC, but the margin for error is shrinking as they prepare for upcoming divisional matchups that could define their season. Kaboly isn't certain this Steelers offense has enough weapons to help a now 41-year-old quarterback.
"When you're expecting a 41, almost 42-year-old quarterback to lift you out of that, sometimes you need some help," Kaboly said. "And I don't know if this team is equipped to give him as much help or support he needs in times where he's not at his best."
Rodgers managed to lead the New York Jets to just five wins in the 2024 season. Though many outsiders believe that wasn’t entirely his fault, he has already matched that total with the Steelers, but the season has been up and down.
Steelers Looking To Split Season Series With Cincinnati
It’s now on Rodgers to try and steer his team out of this mess. The Steelers will get a chance to bounce back in Week 11 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. After dropping the Thursday night game to the Bengals, it will be pivotal for Pittsburgh to secure this win and get back on the right side of the win-loss column.

The Steelers are never looking to split a division series with any of their hated rivals, but when you lose the first one, you only have one other option—and that’s what the Steelers will try to do on Sunday.
