The Pittsburgh Steelers franchise has won six Super Bowl trophies in its existence. That’s a nice collection of hardware, but no Steelers fans are currently celebrating. The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season. Many fans are hopeful that will change in the 2025 season with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, but after the team’s Week 10 showing, there are growing concerns. The offense continues to look inconsistent, and the spark that fans hoped Rodgers would bring hasn’t quite materialized. The excitement that surrounded his arrival in Pittsburgh is beginning to fade as frustration grows over the team’s offensive struggles.

Many Steelers fans miss the days when Terry Bradshaw was winning four Super Bowls and slinging the ball down the field with confidence and toughness. Bradshaw represented a golden era in Pittsburgh football, a time when the team dominated on both sides of the ball and set the standard for success in the NFL. While the game has evolved since then, fans can’t help but look back on that era with nostalgia, especially when the current Steelers offense struggles to find an identity. The comparisons between past and present only make it clearer how far the franchise has drifted from its championship roots.
In a recent article posted by OutKick, Bradshaw made a bold claim. He believes Tom Brady’s status as the greatest of all time should be questioned more. Bradshaw argued that while Brady’s success is undeniable, the context surrounding his career, including elite coaching and favorable rule changes for quarterbacks, makes the debate more complex than many fans acknowledge. Coming from a four-time Super Bowl champion who played in a much tougher era for quarterbacks, Bradshaw’s comments have sparked renewed discussion about what truly defines greatness in the NFL.
"People always say, 'Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever play,'" Bradshaw begins. "OK. Is he really? Otto Graham might be the greatest quarterback to ever play. How many titles did Otto win? Ten? Look it up. And Tom lost three. I was 4–0. [Joe] Montana was 4–0. Brady was 7–3. Seven minus three is four. Four, four, four — that’s how I look at it."
Bradshaw’s perspective highlights a larger conversation about how football greatness is measured. Championships are an important factor, but era, teammates, coaching, and rule changes all play a role in shaping a player’s legacy.

For Steelers fans, it is a reminder of the standard set by Bradshaw and the teams of the 1970s, when dominance was earned through toughness, physicality, and precision. Those were the years that built the Steelers’ identity as a franchise that demands excellence.
The 2025 Steelers Are Hopeful To Write Their Own Story
As the current team tries to write its own story, the comparisons to the past are inevitable. Rodgers brings experience and skill, but translating that into playoff success is never guaranteed, and the pressure is intense. Fans are eager to see the Steelers return to the postseason with the kind of confidence and consistency that defined the Bradshaw era. The Week 10 performance may have raised questions, but there is still time for adjustments, growth, and breakthroughs.

Ultimately, the conversation about the greatest quarterback is about more than just statistics. It is about leadership, impact, and winning when it matters most. For the Steelers, the hope is that a new chapter can be written, one that honors the franchise’s storied past while giving fans something to celebrate once again.
